Pellilock War Mage
The Pellilock Endeavor School of the Arcane is the preeminent school of magic users in the world. The amount of knowledge that exists within its walls draws those hungry for learning and power. To protect the school and its inhabitants Pelilock looks to its strongest protector, the War Mage, leader of the specially trained Arcanists and acting military counsel for the institution.
Duties
To the War Mage, the protection of the Pellilock School and those within it are their greatest focus. The value that the institution offers the world would be impossible to maintain without the strength of its own internal protectors. Those who have taken the mantle typically are fiercely loyal to the school and its leadership. From the students, to the professors, to the townsfolk who live in Freykeep, the War Mage stands to support each of them and keep them safe from external pressures and invasions.
Responsibilities
The position of the War Mage primarily entails administrative responsibilities within the Pellilock Security Corps. As the head of both divisions of the corps, the War Mage assumes a crucial role in overseeing and approving various operational aspects. This includes ensuring efficient coordination between the different units and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the corps' activities.
Moreover, the War Mage is granted priviledged access to leadership discussions, particularly war councils, where they are called upon to actively contribute alongside the school's academic leadership. This involvement allows them to offer valuable insights and strategic recommendations in matters concerning military operations and security.
In addition to their internal duties, the War Mage also serves as a representative and liaison for the school during significant events and critical times. This includes acting as a diplomatic envoy to the nation capitals when the school is involved in armed conflicts or faced with general military threats. In such cases, the War Mage becomes a vital link between the school and the relevant political authorities, fostering cooperation and ensuring effective communication.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Every War Mage receives a specially crafted Pellilcok brooch or cape clasp in pure silver. At the time of creation the brooch is typically enchanted to the specifications of the forthcoming title holder to best fit their particular capbilities.
