Ebrouhu Reeja

Ebrouhu Reeja was a human bard operating in Talevir around the years of 890 - 906. For several years, Ebrouhu worked as a low-level highwayman and con artist for the Velvet Sons of Stagshead. Ebrouhu worked in a small faction of Velvet Sons that operated primarily to the southeast of Stagshead, preying on newcomers to the city. The faction reported to a mid-level boss of the Velvet Sons headquartered at the Fork and Tankard tavern in northern Stagshead.   After some years running with the Velvet Sons, Ebrouhu was summarily rejected from the group. His ambitions as a popular musician and entertainer interfered too much with his job as a con for the Velvet Sons. Tensions grew to a head as Aemon Lighthand personally disavowed Ebrouhu from entering the Fork and Tankard Tavern, angered by the constant sound of drum, lute, horn, fochlucan bandore and more. Ebrouhu spent several years on his own, performing at venues all around Stagshead and occasionally taking an easy con job or even legitimate bodyguard / guide work.

The Sea's Well

Bailey made a move, cutting into Chester's lead. When the half-elf Hazan insisted on games, this may not have been what Ebrouhu had expected, but the opportunity fell right into his hands. With careful and practiced sleight of hand, Ebrouhu's transparent mage hand cradled Chester. "Here we go," Ebrouhu thought. The perfectly timed nudge proved to be just the boost the turtle needed to reach the finish line! Looks like they picked the right turtle after all.
In 906, Ebrouhu was passing between taverns and performing venues around the north and east sides of Stagshead. He was doing well for himself, earning comfortable lodging and hot meals most nights. Still on the lookout for easy money, Ebrouhu overheard two travelers speaking about nearby wizard towers. After performing that evening, Ebrouhu approached the travelers, Atessa Ruminant and Rita Repulsa, and offered to guide them through the area in exchange for some gold. Before the three are able to depart, Ebrouhu was confronted by a forcefully insistent Shrike Scrivenor. Shrike informed Rita and Atessa that the wizard towers in the region were heavily picked over and if they were to join her in her quest, she would be able to grant them access to Candlekeep to help them discover some arcane secrets held there. Shrike enlists Ebrouhu to help her find any information on her estranged twin brother, Jackdaw. Ebrouhu leads the party to the Fork and Tankard to confront the Velvet Sons over Jackdaw's location. The meeting goes south quickly and the party dispaches all Velvet Sons in the tavern, including Aemon Lighthand. The only survivor of the altercation was the corrupt Knight of the Lord's Alliance, Sir Erick Harmied. In the aftermath, Shrike finds evidence suggesting that Jackdaw may be headed to the city Kahl.   Ebrouhu leads the party to the Eastside of Stagshead and they take rest at the Stagsdoor Inn. The morning after, the party is confronted by an old, elven wizard- Atessa's former master. The wizard teleported into the common room of the Stagsdoor Inn and immediately chained Atessa. With a word of warning to the party to stay away from Atessa until her debt is paid, he teleported away with his former apprentice bound in arcane chains.   Following the disappearance of Atessa, the party remained resolved to travel south to Hartsport in order to book passage to Kahl by way of Cooperage. They took a 30 hour riverboat ride south from Stagshead to Hartsport. Upon the riverboat, The Verdance, the party encountered and paid passage for two stowaway children trying to escape the slums of Stagshead.   Upon arrival in Hartsport, the party found the Eastdocks in a state of chaos as dark stormclouds encroached upon the port city. Merchants and dockworkers were in the process of moving crates and barrels from the docks to buildings further inland and boarding up shop windows and doors. The docks themselves were largely abandoned, with nearly every seafaring vessel already out to sea, many departing the city across the bay. The party arranged for passage on the one seafaring vessel still in port, The Phoenix, to depart as soon as the storm passes. The captain offered to show them to the Inn which he planned to sit out the storm: The Sea's Well Tavern and Inn.   Once at the Sea's Well Tavern, the party spent time trying to secure a room, performing for the other patrons riding out the storm together, betting on turtle races and engaging in some drinking games with a group of locals. As the night progressed, the party was approached by an ever increasingly stressed out tavernkeeper. The tavernkeeper, Yurgos Lorezo, informed the party that his son, Essen, was out in the middle of the ever worsening storm outside. The party agreed to go out into the storm and recover Essen from the Eastdocks Market.   Into the elements, the party faced hurricane-strength gusts of wind and biting rain. The sea swelling up and over the dock's walls made the port road difficult to navigate. Flying debris and an abandoned ship crashing onto the port road obstructed the party's progress. Eventually they made it to the Eastdocks Market and found Essen Lorezo enjoying a meal and excessive amounts of wine with the Messi family that operates the market. The party insisted that he stay to woo the Messi's daughter, Mirabel.   After a short rest and some fine food, wine and conversation with the Messis and Essen, the party set out into the storm to return to the Sea's Well. Their journey back was interrupted by the appearance of a Water Elemental, which Rita, Shrike and Ebrouhu easily bested. In their victory, the sky lit up with angry strikes of lightning. The party could see, maybe 1,200 feet south of them, a gargantuan form of an Elder Tempest at the heart of the storm. The party quickly made it back to the Sea's Well.   Their return was marked by much joy from Yurgos, who paid each in the party handsomely. As they bed down for the night, the rest for those downstairs was interrupted as water began to flood the tavern, first from its basement door, then through the front and kitchen doors. The patrons and staff of the Sea's Well Tavern cram together in the rooms upstairs as the entire borough of Hartsport's Eastdocks flooded.   After a chaotic night, wind, rain and floodwaters, the party awakened in the middle of a mass of people tightly crammed into the second story of the Sea’s Well Inn. Yurgos is there with his daughter, Jada, cradled in the corner of the hallway. In the room adjacent, door ajar, Hazan is snoring away peacefully, holding two sea turtles. Together, with these people, the party survived the night. Outside, the Eastdocks are flooded with ocean water, murky and littered with debris. There are some ships returning to port in the bay and sun is shining, sparkling on the water.
