Denny

Denny was a goliath mercenary, operating in Vasera around 840-845.  As a child, Denny had been discovered by a band of wealthy traveling merchants who took him in under their wing.  These merchants raised Denny and exploited his physical prowess as a servant to help them in their travels.  Denny was raised to hold little self worth and little understanding of his actual strength.  
Around 844-845, Denny set out from his merchant's camp to gather firewood and returned to find the entire camp slaughtered by bandits.  With his newfound freedom, Denny began to do any odd job to survive out on the road.  His slow trek north eventually brought him to Letor, where he was recruited to a party of adventurers tasked with the mission of finding a wizard that may be able to break a 50-years-long drought in Vasera.

THE GREAT DROUGHT

Denny ran after the party, not sure what they were running after... or running from.  As he turned the corner, he saw it:  Duane, Shep and Erdo had the thing cornered, but the tension was palpable in this chamber.  Any moment this situation could go sideways.  With his target just a few feet out of his range, Denny grabbed his trusty hammer, pulled it back and threw it forward with all of the force he could muster.  The hammer sailed, end over end before CRACKING into the attacking broomstick.  When books and brooms attack, in this place, nothing is what it seems.
