The Dragon Riders of the Dagan Isles

The Dragon Riders of the Dagan Isles are a storied order that has held command of the skies far before the idea of flying ships and floating cities were even possible. Their order weas founded in the days of the Titan wars, and has served as a bridge order between Dragon kind and those akin to them, but not of the blood. They had been secluded on their pair of islands within the chain known as the blood Isles, their purpose in flux since the first Conucil of Wyrms disbanded, but recently, they have found renewed vigor and purpose as the Council attempts to reform. Soon, the riders will once again reassume their patrol of the skies across the world.

The order has a monastic tradition to them, thanks to their reclusive nature. Children and brought or born to the Dagan Isles and grow up around the culture all of their life as a conditioning for the life and service they may grow into. A rider forms a bond with a dragon or dragon egg and together the two take to the skies as a fearsome duo partnership. There bond cannot be broken by anything save their death and though dragons live a great deal longer than most other folk on Ellecrid, the bond with the dragon has seemed to grant certain qualities of longevity to many a rider.
