The Planes of Nardethel

Geography
The Planes of Nardethel is a collection of peninsular located on the Southestern portion of Longreech, Below The Spine mountain range. The soil in the planes are said to be extremely fertile allowing for an extraordinarily high crop yield.
Many small rivers run through the various Kingdoms of the Planes contributing to the high fertility of the soil. The Spine mountain range protects the planes from the icy northern winds making the climate perfect for growing fruit.
The Planes have coastlines bordering The Bay of Gold, The Shining Straight and The Great Eastern Ocean.
The Argor Desert
The Argor Desert splits the most easterly peninsula of the planes in two. Despite its hot climes and sandy dunes, it like the rest of the planes still produces fruit and foods from the various flora and fauna in the vibrant oasis’ within. In the early history of the planes it saw a hive of civilisation as the first inhabitants gathered to mine the copper ore for bronze working. In recent years the area has become less and less profitable however.The Grainlands
The central region of the planes is known as the grainlands. Mythologically it is said to be where the Wild Mother sowed the first grain seed to feed her followers. It’s greatest exports are Barley, Rye, Wheat and other grains. It is often also called the Golden Hills because of its vibrant wheat.The Othrae Peninsular
The Othrae Peninsular is the furthest the planes stretch west. It was once heavily forested but is now home to the luxurious and world renowned vineyards that cover its subtle hillocks.Fauna & Flora
The planes are home to a wonderful selection of fruits only found in the region. Many types of berries, apples, citrus fruits and most importantly grapes. There are over 300 types of grape in Othrae alone. (The Kingdom of Othrae specialises in Wine making).
The region also has a wide range of avian life. Many of the brightly coloured birds are sort after as luxury pets.
There is far less animal husbandry in the plane kingdoms than many of the other nations of Longreech because 80% of the land is required for agriculture.
There is a large ecology of fresh water river fish in the planes, including the famed Nardethel Salmon.
Natural Resources
As mentioned before, the majority of the natural resources of the planes lie within its agricultural produce of Grains and Fruits.
There are some mineral deposits found within the desert on the most eastern side of the planes, mainly copper. Early settler of the planes used the desert copper in the production of bronze and bronze tooling, but since the development of superior iron and steelworks the deposits are worth less and less. It is rumoured however that precious gemstones have begun to be extracted from deep below the sands.
