The King-That-Never-Was, also known as The Hero, The Hero Ascendum and The Chainbreaker, is a Lawful Good Deity in the world of Elendor. They are the only known Mortal to truly achieve Ascension to the Divine.

Holy Books & Codes

The Book of Ascension: The Primary Holy Book of the followers of the King-That-Never-Was, It tells the story of Elendors birth and the may good deeds and triumphs of the Hero all the way up to the Day of Ascension. The final Chapter known as the Book of Annihilation tells of a prophecy where one day the Seals of Elendor will be broken by a young girl and the forces of Darkness will return to the world and a Hero must rise again to banish those who would enslave mortality.
Ulfric's "The Great Journey": The story of the Bard and Scholar Ulfric, who was the only mortal disciple of the Hero allowed to witness the Hero's ascension. Before achieving Divinity, The Hero told Ulfric of the wonders of the new world relinquished to mortals and of all its beauty. The Story is a short set of morals and miracles performed by the Hero on their Great Journey. While not scripture, it does serve as a moral codex. Many of the stories within have been disregarded by modern scholars as pure fiction.
