Strong Hero

The Strong hero uses their Strength score to best advantage. Taking a feature in this class demonstrates physical training overall strength and power. Strong heroes excel at hand-to-hand and melee combat, as well as other activities that best utilize physical power.

A strong hero might be a bodybuilder or an athlete who concentrates on the power aspect of sports. They might be quietly intimidating or robustly boisterous. They might be as gentle as they are big or a lout and a bully.

Examples of Strong Heroes

Boxers, martial artists, some types of soldiers, athletes who depend on raw physical power, blue-collar workers, and others who rely on pure brawn all fall within the scope of the Strong hero.

Ability

Strength is the ability associated with this class. Strong heroes usually also have good scores in Constitution, Dexterity, and at least one of the nonphysical abilities.

Class Features

Tier One
Defensive Stance - 1500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Defensive Stance

    • AXP: 1500
    • Pre-Requisites: Strength ability score of at least 14 or access granted by selecting Strong Hero, Bruiser, or Champion as base class
    • Grants Access To: None

As a bonus action you may settle into a defensive stance, while active you gain a +3 bonus to AC. Your movement speed is reduced by 15 feet, and you have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws. You may only have one stance active at any time, activating a stance is a swift action but may only be done once per turn.


 
Extreme Effort - 2000 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Extreme Effort

    • AXP: 2000
    • Pre-Requisites: Strength ability score of at least 12 or access granted by selecting Strong Hero as base class
    • Grants Access To: None

A Strong hero can push him or herself to make an extreme effort. The effort must relate either to a Strength check or a Strength-based skill check. The effort requires a full-round action and provides a +2 bonus on the check.


 
Improved Extreme Effort - 2600 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Improved Extreme Effort

The effort now requires a full-round action and provides a +2 bonus that stacks with the bonus provided by Extreme Effort (+4 total).


 
Ignore Armor - 2500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Ignore Armor

    • AXP: 2500
    • Pre-Requisites: Strength of at least 14 or access granted by selecting the Strong Hero or Bruiser as base class
    • Grants Access To: None

The Strong hero has an innate talent for finding weaknesses in objects. This allows a Strong hero to ignore some of an creatures armor when making a melee attack or to break an object. You may add a +2 to all attack rolls from physical weapons (swords, fists, bullets etc.) You may also add +4 to all attack rolls made against objects and structures.


 
Melee Smash - 1500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Melee Smash

    • AXP: 1500
    • Pre-Requisites: None
    • Grants Access To: None

The Strong hero has an innate strength that increases melee damage. You receive a +1 bonus on all melee damage.


 
Offensive Stance - 1500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Offensive Stance

    • AXP: 1500
    • Pre-Requisites: Strength ability score of at least 14 or access granted by selecting Strong Hero, Bruiser, Specialist, or Assassin as base class
    • Grants Access To: None
