Timra
Come, friend. You look tired! Come to my inn, it's the finest of Timran hospitality! Enjoy a hot meal and a handmade tankard of ale, before drifting off to sleep one of our many rooms.Timra is a city next to the Dermas Lake in the Reber Plain, a sparse area of grassland in the north of the Kingdom of Erdantia. It began as a port city but was soon overshadowed by the City of Drago, which overtook Timra as the primary trade city of the ocean above the Peninsula of Erdantia. It now stands as a stopping point for people moving in and out of the northern and northwestern border of Erdantia by land, typically for trade with Emmerion and to supply military fortifications in the north of Erdantia, although it is also used for smugglers trading with Yannurrin (something banned due to high political tensions between the two countries).
Demographics
The city is largely made up of Humans, the settlement being very far from the homelands of any other species. The majority of the inhabitants are Erdantines, with a small minority of Cordaintines.
Timra has one of the lowest birth rates in the area, owing to its wealthy position.
Almost all Timrans take up service jobs. A culture of family business is present, and people leaving the town to find work elsewhere is rare. That said, both Sir Edward Black of Timra, the captain of the New Guard (The Royal Guard unit of Erdantia and a part of the Order of Tyler), and Rowan Hawthorne, captain of the Dragoin guard, hail from Timra.
Government
The city is run by Lord Edward Behmin, who remains constantly involved with small affairs of the people of Timra, and has become very popular as a result. Edward resides in a manor in the centre of Timra. He has a single aide, Daim Alys Wall, who also serves as steward of the manor.
Defences
The town has no permanent defensive structures, but it has a militia of fifty men, which serve on rotation. In light of the War of Eserae, a platoon from Drago have taken up position in the town to defend it from possible invasion.
Industry & Trade
Timra sustains itself from the merchants who pass through en route to nations like Emmerion and the various military emplacements on the Erdantia-Yannurrin border. The town is also occasionally used as a restock point for trade ships going past, although Drago is more commonly used due to its larger docks and higher quality naval infrastructure.
Infrastructure
The city once boasted a large dock, although large portions of it have now been demolished after trade stopped, leaving only five spaces for passing ships to stay. The remaining infrastructure is well kept. A large courtyard sits in the centre of the town, next to the lord’s manor and within a small wooden wall, and it serves as a market on most days.
Assets
The town's inhabitants are very rich when compared with the rest of the country, the town being on the road of the most important trade routes in northern Erdantia. The town boasts five inns, three grocers, and two blacksmiths. The town also has a doctor, named Jean Cox.
History
While the city has long been fairly wealthy, its success has fluctuated a fair amount over time. While it was initially the only trade link to Emmerion, the passing over of the City of Arletzia from Yannurrin to Emmerion and the establishment of transit rights within Emmerion meant that there was now a major competitor to Timra in trade with the nation. Throughout the Syndalan-Orlendian war, tensions with Yannurrin acted as a deterrent to traders travelling through Arletzia, and Timra slowly increased in prosperity. In the War of Eserae, Yannurrin revoked transit rights and then temporarily took control of Arletzia, meaning Timra was the only option for trade. Now that the War is over, trade to Arletzia is returning slowly.
Architecture
The city uses large amounts of wood, imported from the forests further towards the centre of Erdantia, and stone, from a nearby quarry. Together they make a town filled with rustic log cabins, another thing that makes Timra so appealing.
Geography
The city stands next to the Dermas lake, which sits within the vast plains that make up northern Erdantia. Apart from freshwater, the lake and surrounding land have few natural resources, and attempts at fishing in the lake or farming the land have been futile.

The good lord Behmin
You often hear stories from Drago about the ivory tower, about leaders of cities that some of the inhabitants haven't even seen. No, not here. To say Lord Behmin was good to us would be to misunderstand who he is at heart. Lord Behmin is not a ruler or a voice of authority. He's a friend, a drinking buddy, a peer. He'll listen to your problems, no matter how small. He's not good to us. He's one of us.Lord Behmin is loved across the town. He is widely seen as being on the same social cast as the other inhabitants of the town, and as such is often seen spending time in bars and restaurants across Timra, socialising with inhabitants and visitors alike. His guards hate it, and want him to stay in the manor more to be safe, but old Edward wouldn't have it any other way.

What a short and lovely little article you have there! I loved the fact that this article was so self contained in such a short amount of words without being boring! The article itself is greatly formatted with nimble use of BBcode! I also love the fact that you’ve even attached a timeline to this! Some questions I had which might improve this article though. 1) What is the history behind the town? 2) Who are some of the well known names from this town in your world? 3) What is daily life like in this town? You’re free to discard this advice if it doesn’t help! I loved the article anyways! Congrats mate and keep up the amazing work!
Cheers for the feedback! I'll get on the questions right away.
