World Ember Homework 2024

Week 1

Greetings and welcome to my world amber homework page. I will make this decoration now that I will write 10,000 words but I will be trying this year for 20,000 words because I pulled it off last year. I'm not sure if I will get there but that is my goal this year. I had lore and legend and lot of great ideas and time last year. Let's see what this year has in store for me and what we will be creating in the months of December.

Choose your area of focus

I am not great at staying focused on a small area of world building or story creation. What I can try to stay focused on is the campaign I'm currently running and the story I start to write in November. I have ADHD and tend to go all over the place and get world building disease. Which to me is not a bad thing but then there's times where I have overloaded myself and it's hard to pick the one thing I want to work on. So if I was to try to pick a focus area I would say it's the list of stuff that my story and the campaign has on my To Do List. Though I do love making items and objects and I will try to make some of them just to break up the bigger stuff I'm building.

Create or update your meta

My world's meta is pretty, so I'll try to update it while I'm working on my book in November. It states what I want, but because of my current writing skill level, I need to improve the flow and make it sound more unified. It was fantastic to read the meta and that I'm doing well in my player having fun in my world, but I didn't work on my story last year, and I'd like to work on it this year. So I force myself to start and make it.

Week Two

Review your homepage

My homepage I have created back in the day but I did take a look at it and realized it needed to be updated and cleaned up a little bit. I have an elevator pitch in a block and a longer set of paragraphs to explain a little bit of the world. If any of you guys would be willing to give me any feedbacks or tips on how to make it better I would be much appreciated. Elema Home Page

Create or review your world primer

I therefore neither know what a primer was nor have any. I'm starting to outline 1, but since I'm working on my story for November and preparing for my campaign, I will be most likely doing this during the remainder of November and into December. I do want to make one, but I have to decide what should go in it how I want it set out and what my readers and players would need to know of this world. This will thus take far more time than simple writing and or edits. therefore get ready for one to arrive in the near future.

Set up your community tools

I already had the likes and follow my world's already active on all my articles. Though I did take the time to clean up and organize the categories in my world. So now they all have icons and they have slimmed down some of the categories. Hopefully this will make it more accessible to people.

CSS wizardry

I am not a CSS Wizard; I am a Creative Sorcerer. Yeah, coding and all that hurts my head and makes my brain want to do immediately escape. I'll keep on developing, creating, and building a world. That is much easier.

Week 3

Read a book or watch a movie!

So I'm now playing Dragon Age Vailgaurd, which fits right in with my world's ideal teams and philosophies. I especially like how Tevinter uses neon Magic enchantments for business signs. Playing the games gives me ideas for my universe, and I'm loving it. If I finish Dragon Age, I'm probably going to play Boulder Gate 3. To give me ideas on how to incorporate rich lore and narrative into my universe. So I'll probably end up playing on story mode simply so I can enjoy the game to the fullest and not have to use the difficult strategies. I believe I should rewatch Fairy Tail since it is the closest thing I can think of that has a reasonable match with the principles of technology and innovation for my world. I will also Rewatch how a genuine hero rebuilt a kingdom. There are some wonderful innovative thoughts on why the law of the fantasy world just says it happens due of magic, and they'll go into more detail about concepts. So this anime as main charhter from are world who take what know from are and use it to understanding magic of the new world and how to use better theri life. Another good anime that demonstrates learn what goose into magic and wounder why they don't learn this is A Wise Man's Grandson. So I'll probably have to rewatch a lot of anime. For an old but Goldie film that isn't Lord of the Rings. I guess I'll watch a good story as well as rewatch the new Dungeons and Dragons movie, which has truly stimulated my imagination. So this is my short list of stuff I be enjoying.

Create a moodboard

So I don't really need a mood board because my entire house is filled with anime RPGs and geeky and fantasy stuff, so all I have to do is sit back and glance around my house to get inspired. I have also have a file on my computer that contains a collection of images from anime and other fictional art work that serves as a screensaver and backdrop.

Create or expand your writing playlist

So I have a variety of music lists ranging from 90s and 2000s songs to musicals, anime and cartoon intros, and a tabletop RPG playlist. Depending on my mood, I'll just put anything and listen to it in the background what ever I in the mood for. I enjoy many genres of music and generally go with the flow. I also have ASMR days to help quiet down my cerebral cortex and allow me to concentrate better on my writing. So I just put on something I enjoy and get to work.

Week 4

Find a community

I would like to be more social online but it's kind of hard for me. Discord confuses the heck out of me because there's just too much going on and it's mess with my ADHD Plus, I have a terrible time reading so I use audio read back. To help me grasp things better, there are times when I merely try read it my self and don't fully comprehend everything, and when I write without a grammar checker, I miss little terms and may spell the wrong word. So I have a very difficult time socializing online.

Not to say that I don't have amazing folks from World Anvil who occasionally leave me comments that encourage me to keep world building, and I've gotten to read and see amazing and great stuff from the world anvil world builder. In addition to my real-world pals do talk about from time to time, but I wish I had a couple of world-building friends to talk to when I come up with a plethora of ideas or get to hear about their world. I really need to get better at social on line. Anyway, social networking on Facebook and world anvil, is what I going to try to do and I do apologize for this rant.

Plan your writing schedule

So my writing schedule is a little strange. I'll try to do some rough drafting at work because I'm a security guard and I wander around a lot. I could just use Google Docs to save preliminary drafts or ideas that I've worked on. When I go home, I'll typically play a game for a while before cracking open the clock at 8:00 p.m. and getting to work on my writing, unless I have a holiday planned. On weekends when I'm not running Pathfinder games, I'll be writing for and hour and then play video gaming for hour. That is basically my schedule; on work days, I may even get up earlier and do some writing as well.

Get some fresh air!

I receive fresh air every day at work, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. This up coming weekend, I'm attending an anime convention with my wife, niece, and nephew. I intend to go to the park and get some fresh air, possibly do some rough draft, and have a lunch with my wife while she reads some books. Though I need to arrange more outside activities and get out of the house, online gaming with pals is a lot of fun. So it hard to get out but do get play in other people worlds.

Hey, if you ever need any help with CSS, I'm starting to get to know about it some (I'm far from being as awesome as T.J.Trewin, but I plug along). My newest CSS discovery is that ".user-css ul li { (insert parameters I want) }" controls the line-height between bulleted lists on your articles <3 For example, I typed "margin-bottom: 10px;" and now I can read the bulleted lists on my articles, lol.   To tell the truth, I kinda copy-pasted ZogMadDog's whole Pereliel (sp?) code and tweaked things.   "Creative Sorcerer" is a great writer alternative to "CSS Wizard" <3   I hope you have success with your WorldEmber. I also have ADHD and am finally medicated for it, but I can feel the burn out coming because of Christmas. Hopefully burn out stays away from you <3 It's not bad to have your inspiration coming from all directions :D   Good luck! <3

That's amazing you are learning CSS. It's cool that you're learning code from others and learning how to tweak and mess with it. Thanks for the comment and I hope you have an excellent and successful World Ember with no burn outs.   Have fun out there

Let's have fun creating the impossible, building new worlds, and all types of possibilities. Valcin
