My goal is always Diamond or nothing.
This year, I will be working on both of my worlds: Elema and Averia. I want to add and provide more content for both because of the stories I am writing. I need to get more of the setting, background, and history filled out.
For Week One, I will be doing the challenge, but I am rolling a d4 to see which order I work in.

Week 1 Homework
1. Review Your Maps and Timelines: Do You Need New Ones?
Elema
The maps for Elema are good for the continents of the world. What I need to get better at is linking articles together and connecting everything more clearly.
I have also started a world timeline and built the eras. Now I can begin figuring out the major historical events that shaped the world. This will help give my stories and games a more cohesive background.
I should definitely work on a timeline for some of the major events that affect the world at large. I also need to build up a timeline for the continent of Raygon, since that is the main continent I am developing at the moment.
Averia
Averia is newer, so it needs more work. I need to create a general timeline for the world, as well as a large continental map.
The biggest thing I need to figure out is how the war has lasted so long, what territories have been conquered, and which few kingdoms have survived.
The map will take a lot of work because I need to figure out how I want to show the graphics of the big war while still keeping a few smaller kingdoms around. For the timeline, I may need to divide it into three separate timelines: one for each major kingdom and how they saw the events that happened to them.
I have not started the timeline yet, but I have started trying to figure out the map.
2. Create or Update Your World Meta
Elema
Elema is good. I updated the world meta during the last WorldEmber, and it is still working perfectly.
Averia
I have started Averia’s world meta, but it is still small. My idea for this world is simple: I wanted to create an anime isekai world and write a story in it.
3. Review and Update Your Homepage and World Primer
Elema
Elema’s homepage works perfectly for what I can do right now.
My world primer is actually in the middle of a year-long challenge from Blue’s Worlds. My challenge is to create the faces of the eight elements that govern my world. This will show a general overview of the world and many of its important ideas, so it will become my world primer.
Averia
Averia’s homepage is ready to go and working.
I do not have enough built in Averia yet to make a full world primer, so I may work on that during WorldEmber.
4. Update Old Articles from Your World
Elema
I have technically been updating and working on several articles already, putting the world together piece by piece. I will probably continue doing this throughout the challenge, mainly for the prompts from Blue’s Worlds.
Those prompts have made me go back through a lot of my old articles. When I start building the timeline, I will probably go through those articles in much more detail, fixing dates and entries. That will be a project for another day.
Averia
Averia does not have many articles yet, but I did find some I want to work on. I will probably focus on three articles: the three main kingdoms involved in my story.
I want to update them, especially because this week’s challenge prompt was about a capital. I already fixed and updated the government, and I will need to do the same for the Kingdom of Lumeris.

Week 2 home Work
Choose an Area to Focus On and Describe It in One Sentence
Elema: I will primarily be focusing on the continent of Raygon, a vast land filled with history, cultures, kingdoms, and ongoing events that shape the lives of many characters.
Averia: I will be focusing on the three main kingdoms,Kingdom of Lumeris Alliance, Dominion of Drakmor and Twilight Kingdom, which serve as the central political and narrative powers of the continent.
How Do Your Areas of Focus Interact with the Rest of the World?
Elema Raygon is a major continent with a rich history and countless opportunities for expansion. It contains many important families, kingdoms, organizations, and events that influence both local and global affairs.
Averia The Three Kingdoms play a pivotal role in the story. Two of them control the majority of the continent's territory and political influence, while the third serves as a key balancing power between them.
Why Did You Choose These Areas of Focus?
Elema: chose Raygon because it serves as the primary setting for many of my stories. It is the home continent of five of the main characters, and many current events that drive the narrative take place there.
Exploring new regions, expanding the world's history, and creating locations tied to my main characters makes developing this continent especially enjoyable.
Averia: I chose the Three Kingdoms because they directly affect the heroes of the story. Two of the kingdoms are responsible for much of the major conflict, while the third provides a more neutral starting point for the new hero.
Developing these kingdoms helps me better understand the world and provides a stronger foundation for the journeys of the three isekai heroes.
Planned Category Structure
Elema: The continent is already flexible enough to support nearly any type of worldbuilding project. Most major categories are established and can continue to expand as needed.
Averia: The overall structure is only partially completed. I still need to determine how I want to organize and develop several aspects of the continent, and additional categories will likely be added as the project progresses.
Concepts I Would Like to Explore
For both Elema and Averia, I would like to focus on:
- Family histories and bloodlines
- Kingdom and regional histories
- Capital cities and important settlements
- Trade routes and economies
- Political structures and relationships
- Cultural traditions and customs
- Organizations and factions
- Geographic landmarks
- Historical events
- Character backgrounds connected to the setting
These are subjects I do not normally spend much time building, but I want to establish stronger foundations for the world. By developing these background elements now, future stories can progress more naturally without requiring constant new worldbuilding. At the same time, I want to continue creating additional locations, concepts, and lore so both worlds feel fully developed and alive.
Week 3
Which Days and for How Long Will You Be Able to Write?
I will primarily be able to write Monday through Thursday. Because of my summer hours as a security guard working at high school and the kids are gone, I often have downtime during work. I can use that time to write rough drafts and get ideas down on paper before I get home.
When I get home, I can focus on expanding those ideas, discussing concepts with my wife, or using my worldbuilding deck if I need additional inspiration.
Friday will likely become my dedicated editing and revision day since it is an extra day off during the summer and my wife is usually still working. I'll use that time to fine-tune articles, organize ideas, and polish rough drafts.
Beyond that, I will probably do smaller writing sessions throughout the weekends and during weekday evenings whenever inspiration strikes.
That is my writing plan for the summer.
What Is Your Typical Creative Process and Routine?
For Summer Camp, I usually start by reading all of the prompts. Whenever an idea immediately stands out to me, I make a quick note and move on until I've gone through all ten prompts.
Afterward, I do a second pass and ask myself if any of those ideas could fit into one of my stories or Pathfinder campaigns. If nothing immediately clicks, I discuss the ideas with my wife or use my worldbuilding deck to help generate new connections.
Once I have a list of ideas I like, I prioritize them and begin expanding them into rough drafts. I develop the concepts, add details, and continue refining them until I have something solid.
After that, I put the draft into ChatGPT for editing. I read through the edited version, listen to it using text-to-speech, and make sure none of my original ideas were changed or altered in ways I don't want. Once everything sounds right, the article is usually ready to publish.
Read a Book to Inspire You
Currently, I'm reading Infinite Dendrogram.
It's a story about a virtual reality game so immersive that the main character, Ray, begins treating the world as if it were completely real. In many ways, that's how I enjoy roleplaying games. I like immersing myself in the world and treating it as a living place rather than just a game.
I originally watched the anime adaptation, but since it only received one season, I've started reading the source material to experience the full story. It has given me plenty of ideas for games, stories, and worldbuilding.
Then again, I consume a lot of anime and fantasy media, so inspiration tends to come from many different places.
Spend Some Time in Your Favorite Fictional World
I recently finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and it remains one of my favorite fictional worlds.
I love the story, the characters, and especially the worldbuilding. The setting feels cohesive and alive, with a magic system that follows understandable rules while still leaving room for mystery and philosophy.
I'll say this right away: I believe people should watch both Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. There are certain characters who receive more development in the original series, making some emotional moments hit much harder. One obvious example is Hughes. The other character I won't mention because of spoilers, but those who have watched both series probably know exactly who I mean.
What inspires me most is how everything feels connected. Alchemy is built around the concept of Equivalent Exchange, yet the story also explores spirituality, truth, humanity, and the nature of God. Different characters interpret these ideas differently, creating a world that feels deeper than just its power system.
Then there are the characters themselves. Even side characters feel important. They have believable motivations, flaws, struggles, and growth. You understand their pain, their victories, and their choices.
The original Fullmetal Alchemist is also excellent, even though it diverges from the manga because the source material wasn't finished at the time. In a way, the two endings represent different philosophies one leaning more toward science and the other toward spirituality. Both are fascinating interpretations of the same world.
It's a series that has inspired me since I was a kid, and it continues to influence how I think about storytelling and worldbuilding today.
Read an Article from Other Anvilites
I readed articles from other Anvilites every now and then, and I genuinely enjoy doing so.
I always feel a little bad because the comments I want to leave usually boil down to, "I enjoyed reading this." I don't always know how to articulate detailed feedback, even when I think something is really interesting or well written.
Most of the time, I simply leave a like and move on.
Still, I enjoy seeing all the different ideas, worlds, cultures, creatures, and stories that people create. There are many amazing writers on World Anvil, and I think it's incredible how many different types of worlds people bring to life.
Reading can sometimes take me longer because I often rely on text-to-speech, but it's always worth it. The creativity and passion of the community are genuinely inspiring.
week 4
What Is Your Goal as a Worldbuilder?
My goal as a worldbuilder is to create worlds that fit the stories I want to tell and the games I want to run. I want my worlds to feel believable and internally consistent, without relying on "it's just magic" to explain everything. I enjoy creating settings that capture the excitement, creativity, and larger-than-life feeling of anime while still making sense within their own rules.
How Will Summer Camp Help?
Summer Camp encourages me to create things that I normally wouldn't spend much time developing. It gives me prompts that inspire new ideas and encourages me to expand areas of my worlds that I might otherwise overlook.
I'm also hoping it will help me continue building the worlds for my stories by filling in background details and strengthening the setting as a whole.
Take a Break and Re-Energize Before Summer Camp
Before Summer Camp, I took a week-long trip to visit my niece and nephew. It gave me a chance to step away from writing, relax, and recharge. It was a much-needed break, and I came back feeling refreshed and ready to start creating again.
Find an Accountability Buddy
I already have the best accountability buddy I could ask for—my wife.
She keeps me motivated, makes sure I stay on track with my goals, and happily reads through my articles. She's also my favorite sounding board whenever I want to bounce around ideas or talk through a new concept.
Most importantly, she reminds me to take breaks, get enough rest, and not overthink every little detail. She's an amazing wife, and I couldn't ask for a better partner in my creative journey.
What Articles Do You Need to Achieve Your Goals?
Honestly, almost any article will help.
Everything I create can eventually find a place in one of my stories or worlds. The more articles I build, the more resources, history, and ideas I have available when writing future stories or running campaigns.
Because of that, I'm happy to write about just about anything.
Prepare Your Writing Space
My primary writing space is my home office. It's always set up and ready whether I'm writing, drawing, or preparing for a Pathfinder game.
I also carry a bag with me that contains a sketchbook and a notebook. I've found that writing ideas down by hand as soon as they come to me makes it much easier to expand them later.
Finally, I often use my phone to record ideas while walking around. I'll dictate notes as they come to me and later transfer them into Google Docs for editing and expansion.
Between my office, notebooks, and phone, I always have a way to capture inspiration whenever it strikes.
Woo!! Best of luck with your diamond goal! Have fun ^^
