Ray of Frost

Ray of Frost, Thorn Shot, Dusky Shot, and many others are considered basic offensive spells, designed to help young mages practice proper aim and magical control while still being able to defend themselves against the monsters and creatures of the world.   These spells serve as an introduction to using magic in an offensive or destructive manner, teaching casters how to focus, control, and manage their power with precision rather than excess. Through them, mages learn not only how to strike a target, but how to understand the behavior of their magic once it is released.   As with all destructive spells, choose your targets and your actions wisely, my young mages. Power without judgment is far more dangerous than any monster you may face.

A ray of freezing air and ice shoots from your pointing finger. You must succeed on a ranged touch attack with the ray to strike your target. On a hit, the ray deals 1d3 points of cold damage.
