Mana

Mana is the intrinsic force and energy of the universe. It is ubiquitous, appearing across the Elema ,Both above and below the ground, and most living species produce their own mana. Serving as the catalyst for spells, powers, and technologies, mana is a fundamental driver of daily existence. On its own, mana is simply a naturally flowing energy. In many cases, it exists passively, awaiting utilization by an individual or entity. Most of the time, mana requires an elemental charge and control to be modified or interacted.

Manifestation

Mana, in its natural state, is typically imperceptible without the assistance of external forces or powers. However, it can be felt, which forms the foundation of learning spellcasting. Aspiring mages are taught to first perceive their own mana essence, then extend their awareness outward to interact with the ambient mana in the world. The process varies depending on the instructor’s methodology, and the sensations experienced can differ from person to person. For example, one might feel a tingling or other unique physical sensation when interacting with mana, reflecting their individual magical aura.

When aided by tools or abilities, mana becomes visible in various colors and intensities, typically appearing as an aura around objects or beings with significant mana reserves. The aura’s color often shifts and undulates, reflecting the individual’s personality or energy. Mana can also be observed independently at leyline sites, where its intensity may cause sensory overload. Raw mana is visible only during mana storms, taking on a shimmering golden and silver hue that mirrors the surrounding environment.

The Planet Mana

Mana flows consistently throughout the universe, acting as a neutral energy until influenced by an entity or object. At that point, its effects depend on the wielder’s intentions and methods. While mana adheres to natural laws, it is not entirely predictable. To manipulate mana effectively, one must possess personal mana, a clear vision of the desired result, and an understanding of symbols and gestures that facilitate mana weaving. Formal training, such as attending a college or learning from an expert, helps individuals refine their control.

It’s important to remember that mana is a natural force, and misuse—especially the extraction of large quantities—can lead to unintended or adverse outcomes. Practitioners are advised to approach mana manipulation with caution, as disturbances in the energy flow can create abnormalities.

Mana in Living Creatures

All living beings contain a minimal amount of personal mana, produced and regulated by a chakra network within their bodies. This network functions like a muscle, capable of growth and strengthening through training. Different cultures and practices use various terms for personal mana, such as chakra, chi, or ki, but these concepts all refer to the same underlying energy.

Every living creature is inherently tied to an elemental type, which differentiates their personal mana from the neutral mana of the world. This elemental association is essential; mana cannot function without it. Consequently, no individual or creature exists without some elemental alignment. This elemental charge allows beings to cast spells or wield powers independently of the world’s mana.

The initial quantity of personal mana is less important than the capacity to grow it through training and experience. Over time, the chakra network becomes more efficient, allowing for greater mana production. Personal mana also has unique traits, including its own "personality," which reflects the individual. When observed through magical means, these traits manifest as an aura, which is as distinctive as a fingerprint. This aura evolves alongside the person, adapting to their experiences and growth.
