Frostweave cloth
Frostweave cloth is a rare and specialized material known for its resistance to cold, water, and freezing effects. It is naturally immune to being frozen, both physically and magically, making it excellent for winter travel, snowy regions, and expeditions near the North or South Poles.
Because of its unique properties, Frostweave is highly valued by travelers, ice mages, arctic hunters, and anyone who must survive in harsh frozen environments.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Frostweave cloth has a soft, slightly waxy texture. Depending on how it is prepared, it may appear as:
- Light blue
- Purple
- A mixture of light blue and purple threads
Physical & Chemical Properties
Frostweave cloth is highly resistant to water. Most liquid simply rolls off its surface, making it useful in snow, rain, sleet, and icy environments.
The fabric also resists cold temperatures in an unusual way. Rather than becoming stiff or freezing, Frostweave remains flexible and keeps its normal texture even in extreme cold. It does not easily chill like normal cloth, allowing it to help the wearer retain body heat longer than standard winter gear. Frostweave does not warm the wearer on its own, but it prevents cold and ice from stealing heat as quickly as normal cloth.
Frostweave is also resistant to ice magic that attempts to freeze the wearer or the fabric itself. However, it does not protect against all ice-based attacks. For example, it may resist a spell that tries to freeze a person solid, but it will not stop a spear of ice from piercing the body.
In simple terms:
- Strong against freezing effects
- Strong against snow, water, and cold exposure
- Weak against physical ice attacks, such as ice blades, spikes, or shards
