Kova Tuuli Lighthouse

Purpose / Function

It's purpose was once to warning and guide merchant ships passing through the sea along the rough and rocky shore. It now shows the end of the Stormwatch realm and represents the the trade and connections that no longer exists.

Alterations

When it was first built it was a tall cylindrical building and had giant Luminous Crystals serving as the light source that ships could see. Around 856 BS a giant bell was added to the top in a bell tower to send sound along with light to ships nearing the coast.

Architecture

The cylindrical building was made of stone and plaster colored in white and red stripes circling up the building. When the bell tower was added it was built out of Shadow Wood preventing it from decaying next to the harsh sea. The area around was once fenced in and the grounds kept to the taste of the current Light Keeper.

History

It was, before the Shattering, a place that many people stopped to lay out offerings to the gods of the sea before boarding a boat to Corsum or dropping off an offering after safe travels. After the Shattering the offerings to the gods are very far and few between as there is rarely a ship traveling between the two areas. The people that have stayed in the area do there best to keep it running but with age and no the correct material it is beginning to show it's age. The Luminous Crystals and Shadow Wood continue to hold up and work and every now and then when a ship begins to near the bell rings though no one is there to ring it.
