The Veil

The Veil is the place between the physical world and the The Mirror . It is the place where souls of the departed wait until their own reincarnation. Some linger here on purpose to watch over family members.
From The Veil, they can choose to slip through into the physical world and become a Familiar or ghost. They cannot linger here long without their essence being pulled back into the Veil.
Spirits can also step from The Veil into the The Mirror to wreak havoc on active Shadow Dancers . Many choose to reside in the The Mirror for Nostalgia or to avoid reincarnation. They are able to linger here as long as they like, as it is closer to The Veil.
Occasionally, they can be forcefully pulled from The Veil to become a Shade.
