World Overview

For centuries, the three major continental powers have warred and skirmished with each other. Of these powers, the ancient Joudan Empire holds claim over the most territory, with the immortal Emperor Joudan maintaining harmony between and eliciting loyalty from the three provinces of Hoshikuni, Xingguo, and Byeol Nala. However, even the enormous Imperial Military of Joudan dares not callously beckon the elite martial tradition of Alqawa, successor state to the historical Empire of Rexa. To compete with Joudan's quantity and Alqawa's quality, the young and prosperous Kingdom of Esconti bolsters its army with arcane magic from vaulted schools of magic and resources gathered from overseas colonies. With none of the three willing to make a big move against the other, the three have remained in a delicate balance of power for generations.

However, 155 years ago, Explorer and 4th Prince Vierre Masuvius of the Kingdom of Esconti discovered the continent of Elandar, a land with vast reserves of untapped natural resources. Even the rare mineral Zephrite—a key component in sky ships—was found in relative abundance in the Scalespike Mountains. The colony of Achitar was founded soon after, and only 12 years later did 4th Prince Vierre Masuvius make the bold and calculated move of seceding from the Kingdom of Esconti to become King Vierre I, ruler of the Kingdom of Achitar.

In the 143 years since the Kingdom of Achitar was founded, the developing country has struggled with a myriad of challenges. From the native Orc Warbands to the Hobgoblin Nation to the East. Achitar is assailed from every angle by the more savage and warlike natives of Elandar. No less critical are Achitar’s own internal conflicts, as raiders, cults, and fugitives all gather in Achitar, taking refuge from the Old World forces that drove them out. But should the ruling class of Achitar ever take their eyes off the schemes of the three major powers, the entire kingdom could be drawn back into the Old World wars that gave birth to it.

The biggest agglomerations of people in Achitar are divided among the bustling capital Port Prine, the industrious mining and smithing center Cryll, or the agrarian landscape Fenfield.
