Lizardfolk

Common Myths and Creation

The Lizardfolk believe themselves to be the first to ever gain sentience and populate Achitar, and thus, are their only inheritors and the only ones that are deserving of the land, thus their aggressive attitudes against other races and fellow tribes. Their legends in Draconic would tell of their origins, as being birthed from an egg from one of the oldest and most venerable goddess from the land, Etzim Khá, the Reptile Mother, who from nothingness, and no mate, birthed forth the lizardfolk, for them to prosper and grow strong in the unforgiving jungle. Etzim Khá showed them little to survive, just enough to cull the weak and strenghten the clutch, and only offering but a few tenets, in which she stated the following:   1) The jungle is dangerous, and survival comes above everything else.
2) The jungle is sacred, and it shall be protected, from all danger.
3) The other tribes can be dangerous. Never allow them to expand more than they should. Mantain the balance.
4) Offer little to others, as nothing will be offered to you.
5) The jungle is your gift. Use it, albeit sparingly.
6) Whoever dares to question your right, put them in their place.
7) Show no mercy towards invaders. Never allow their footprints to taint the land.   The feeling of animosity towards other races would only be further fueled due to their own taking of prime places to survive, something that the lizardfolk soon began to resent, as they were put in disadvantage. Fueled by their own tenets and necessity to survive, became increasingly hostile, to make a point and show the rest that they were better than the others, and that furred beings will never overthrow the legitimate leaders of the land, as stories also told how the falling of grace from the lizardfolk would come as others ascended into sentience. So they have fought with fangs and nails to prevent this apocalypse to manifest forth.
