Personal history

Born of a noble family, Lysias grew up wanting for nothing. He was older than his sister Katina by several years. As the first born child it was expected that he would marry a proper noble girl. When he was 17 he was betrothed to Lady Kynna, the daughter of Lord Barates who was the nephew of King Cisseus. When he was 20 they married. They tired for years to have a child Lady Kyanna with finally falling pregnant a short time after their 5 anniversary. The pregnancy was difficult for Kyanna and she, along with her babe, died in childbirth. Heartbroken he became withdrawn. Having met a few times at gatherings, his sister caught the eye of the Prince, a shy young man named Aris. Aris, having grown to have little political skill while both his sister and him were adept, she was to be married to him within the year. A year after that Katina gave birth to a baby boy named Rasmus.
The King and Queen hoped that by the time they passed, Aris would be a mature man ready to take on the thrown. Instead 3 years after Rasmus' birth a unknown illness started. By the time a treatment was found effective King Cisseus, his wife,and Katina had already succumb to it along with 30 other nobles and 150 servants. Aris was named King. Lysias was heartbroken at the loss of his sister and was bitter that a fool was in charge of the Kingdom. He soon realized a potential and became the head advisor to King Aris, they person he trusted and bent an ear to.
