Mother Madeleine Calmette
I was very sick when I first saw it, I almost thought it a mirage. My fever had grown hotter in the past day and the stone looked so cool. As I walked in and laid down on floor the stone soothed me and I fell into fitful sleep. When I awoke I was in complete darkness, my fever and ache gone. I figured I must be dead. Soon the room began to glow, strange sigils all along the walls began to glow around me. In my head a voice told me that I was near death and that it was fate I wandered into their domain. I asked them what I could do to repay them for saving my life. I wanted to ask so many questions but did not want to anger what I thought must be a god. The voice laughed and told me they were a celestial, an Angel name Raphael. He told me he had a purpose for saving me and that I would be called Mother. He talked and I listened, and soon the glow faded and the door opened.

Personal history
When Madeleine was 23 years old her town was struck with a horrible sickness. As more people fell sick the town leaders decide to put everyone infected in the church. One night she awoke to find the building in flames, someone outside had started it on fire. When she yelled to wake everyone she realized most were to weak to do anything but watch. Stumbling to her feet she discovered a piece of roof had dropped and shattered a piece of wall near the back. Slipping out of the gap she fled into the forest wandering through the night until she came upon Debeo Caelestis. Collapsing inside she was saved by the Angel Raphael.
Education
She had no formal education but her parents had taught her their occupational skills. Her father was a woodworker and builder. Her mother was a seamstress and also grew food in the family garden. A old man in the village was rumored to be a exiled noble and taught many of the children how to read.
Employment
She spent most of her time before The Gate helping her mother sew and expanding the garden to sell extra produce.
Accomplishments & Achievements
After Raphael saved her life she was given a purpose, she was to become Mother and begin building a home for her children. These children would soon come from all over the country in order to serve the Angels. It to her 5 year to build The Gate's first home. When it was done she entered the Debeo Caelestis and was given a location to travel to.
It was a small cottage a few days north of the nearest village. When she came to the house she found a man half conscious with a badly infected bite on his thigh. When she walked to him he weakly smiled and told her that his prayers had been answered and he can go see his wife now. As he breathed his last breath she heard a muffled cry. Inside a closed chest in the back of the room she found a small infant, her father had put her there to suffocate after his death. She returned to The Gate with the child and placed her into the room. Her name was now Raphael, the first to be bound to an Angel.
