Mother

Requirements

In order to be chosen as a Mother's successor the person must:

Not have a patron
Be female
Be apprenticed between 12-18
Have no significant ties to outsiders (Spouse,children etc.)
Loyalty to The Gate above all else

Appointment

When the current Mother feels she is beginning to slow, she will choose a Sister without a Patron who shows great loyalty and dedication to The Gate she will then begin training the Sister as her replacement. Training starts with simple day to day tasks, learning to care for the children of all ages, cooking, cleaning, farming etc. While most of this is learned in their basic education, the Sister must eventually perfect all of the skills needed to maintain The Gate. This education will be the majority of the first few years of apprenticeship. The Sister will then be slowly introduced to Celestial knowledge. The must learn all the Angel names, their Sigils and the power that using those gives.

Duties

Mother's First duty is to protect The Gate from those who wish to harm it. Her Second duty is to raise and protect the Named so that they can complete their Tasks given to them by their Patrons.

Benefits

Access to The Gates fund, library, and Celestial knowledge. Can use limited gifts from all Sigils.

Mother was first created when Madeleine Calmette) was saved from a deadly sickness by Raphael. In exchange she spent the rest of her life building and protecting The Gate.
