Gifted vs Loyalists
The Conflict
Prelude
After a series of escapes and attempts of detained magic users all over the kingdom, enacted by The Gifted, the Loyalists were ordered to transfer their prisoners to hold outside Derresi. The Loyalist were supposed to take individually planned routes within a time span of 2 weeks, in order to prevent further attacks and escapes during the transfer. Unknown to the Loyalists someone within their organization revealed this plan to The Gifted, and they coordinated a plan of their own.
Deployment
The Loyalist send out a few dozen covered wagons in order to cover each area of the kingdom, each to be brought together in 4 groups at the nearest crossroads. Each covered wagon had 4 times the normal amount of Loyalists, drawing from all over Atherus.
The Gifted, having received information about the crossroads convergence created 4 teams of 15 Gifted to post in the forest surrounding the crossroads. The strongest of their people were sent to the Southern Caravan (See:map layer Gifted Escape) including Silas and Thaleia
Battlefield
Both side of the road were comprised of forests, providing cover for the Gifted forces.
The Engagement
The ambushes had a window of 2 days between them, with the northern and western caravans reaching their crossroads first. The Gifted attacked with full surprise, blocking the Loyalists in, while many of them had amazing Gifts most were relatively untrained in their abilities, most which are only effective in close to mid-ranged combat. This lead to the Loyalists having a trained tactical advantage at the mid to long range, with their spears and archers. Still with each Gifted team having someone with some sort of healing ability and at least one person with a long range Gift, they eventually took all four caravans with minor causalities. While most Gifted sustained some injuries, a total of 6 died either on the battlefield or later of their injuries.
