Spirit Crystals

Spirit Crystals are a form of Kinegem used mainly by the First Folk that are powered by the will and energy of a person directly. While sacrificing a bit of their magical power, a magician would be able to imbue complex rules into a gem.
However, the method to produce the gems has been lost to time. The last known spirit gems were created by remnants of the Lost Ukanten Civilization. Uncovered gems often hold still hold the will of a former user in them. SOme gems are so strong, magically gifted user claim to feel the personality of a long dead person in it. This seems to be the case with the Manekindred Crystal Masks.
Other crystals are rumored to be able to slowly drain a person's soul into them, to feed their apparently neverending need for energy.
