Mechanical Star Diorama
A masterwork in technology, created by Theolis Huggendeen depciting a highly detailed simulaton of the night sky, complete with movement over the coming 200 years. It is too large to be mobile and therefore has to stay in the Sabesian Observatory, where it was originally constructed.
Its creator has since moved on to other projects and only a few of his old pupils have a very rough understanding on how to maintain the apparatus. So far, it has been absolutely accurate, helping the observatory in its work immensely. However, some astronomers are worried, as the diorama shows that Zecod's Tear should return about two years earlier, then it was originally anticipated. Given the irregular nature of the comet, most suspect the reason being one of the very few errors in the model.
