Rosestone

No matter where one would travel, a single set of armor always stands out in any crowd. The diplomats garb is comprised of fine silk, some silver and vast amounts of rosestone. This material posesses the unique attribute of absorbing light and emitting a feint pink glow in the dark after refinement. While this would be a questionable to choice, dressing your diplomats in this eye catching fashion, the ore is also incredibly sturdy when used in conjunction with iron to create resistant yet lightweight plates.
Mining for this ore is extremely tedious as it is very rare, only being found on a select number of islands, and even there, it can take months to unearth a single pound. The mining process is so difficult as in it's unrefined state, it does not posess the properties achieved after forging. There is no glow to it, neither does it posess any color. Additionally, it can only be found in very small quantities the size of a pebble.
During forging, it has to be cooled down, as to not loose it's properties as cooling it down rapidly causes it to become briddle and slowly break apart. Each piece of plate created during this process if formed to the shape of the emblem the person represents.
Seeing someone in this armor immeditately clarifies their high political position, which is essential because every harbor has to accept a diplomats docking request. Additionally, these people have immunity when it comes to the local guard, they must be given the ability to freely leave the island, even if they have blantantly committed a crime. The only expection to this rule is should the person is question have captured somebody. The prisoner has to be released before the diplomat is free to leave the port with his ship and crew.
