Amnesiac Bliss Condition in Ekkirah | World Anvil

Amnesiac Bliss

Drinking the sap of the Myo, a type of tree that is defined by it's tall, thin trunk, covered in white and yellow striped bark, will send the individual on a hallicungenic journey, fullfilling their wildest dreams while the effect lasts. After this condition ends however, the user is violently brought back to reality, experiencing sickness, dizzyness and fatigue for two to four days.   As it is generally considered a popular drug, alchemists have tried to enhance it by reducing the aftereffect of consumption. During their efforts, multiple combinations of the sap with other drugs have been mixed and tested. The results varied wildy, some mixtures would induce nightmares instead of dreams, others would have no effect at all, still others would worsen the negative symptoms that were experienced.   It wasn't until High Priestess Peti Dayvu accidentally discovered, that when drinking myo tree sap and heated ragmistle tea at the same time, the recovery process could be improved. This mixture induced two effects. Firstly, senses are amplified, taste, smell, touch, everything feels more intense. Secondly, after about half a day, a memory loss sets in, which subsides three days later.   After drinking, what has since been called myomistle tea, she woke up three days later, not remembering what happened, only that it was a very pleasing experience. Telling others of her experience, she described it as "Amnesiac Bliss" and offered it to her followers and soon after to outsiders. The temple has since become an often visited destination for weary travelers and adventureres, looking for a break from their stressfull journeys. This has lead to a massive influx in donations and as such, led to her small island to flourish.   Not all kingdoms took kindly to the discovery of this substance mixture, as some got addicted, seeking permanent refuge in the feeling of bliss, using it as a means to escape their life completely.
