Noveakrin

"Vrissit ivrexin, aejit detrovin."
maxim of Noveakrin, literally "Love souls, use things"

Noveakrin, god of wealth, prosperity, and dragons, was among the first second-generation Meydra to be born. He observed the workings of the world and was fascinated by Suvrik's teachings on trading, and wondered at the idea of a thing which could be traded for virtually anything. Thus he invented the first currency. Suvrik was impressed by his ideas and helped him to spread them across all of Talazic. Noveakrin, convinced this idea would help the world, found a particular trial in the lizardfolk, who cared little for such a thing, and as a result he became almost obsessed with helping them understand the utility of it. Finally, he found a single lizardfolk, a female called Ternesj, who was interested in his teachings and willing to follow him, and, considering this his greatest success, he made her into the first dragon. Not long after, Noveakrin traveled to the Beyond to present his invention to Evendur as an offering. Evendur told him, "Order will one day rule, and this shall be a tool to be used, but take heed: many among the free folk will love it as if it had a soul." Noveakrin is patron of all dragons but happy to help anyone who comes to him in need of financial assistance. To this day lizardfolk still dismiss the notion of wealth, but generally respect Noveakrin for his power and tenacity. Noveakrin is portrayed as a metallic dragon with four wings plated in armor adorned with angel feathers.

Relationships

Noveakrin was son of Ebium and Celeyra, and was close friends with Kishike, who gifted the dragons with fire. Noveakrin took a mate from among the dragons, whose name was Nareszcie.

Bahamut and Tiamat

Noveakrin and Narezcie had two wyrmlings, Bahamut and Tiamat. Bahamut was a dutiful son and virtuous leader and warrior whose scales shone all the brighter as he grew, while Tiamat, being the weaker-willed of the two, was targeted by fiends, who quickly corrupted Noveakrin's invention and manipulated her to hold it in a place of inflated importance. She still desired to be close to her family, and over time her love for them, the influence of the fiends, and her growing greed drove her mind to splinter into five facets, each exhibiting a different part of her personality. Any goodness in her was reduced to fractured vestiges and she became a great force of wickedness and spite. She was followed by several dragons, of which there were still not many, and who each began to exhibit characteristics of one of Tiamat's personalities, which were manifesting as physical heads of different colors. The remaining dragons, fearing that the humanoids in the region would suffer should these monsters of greed come to blows with them, took their riches and sequestered themselves in remote locations, assigning themselves as diligent guards to watch humanoids from afar. Bahamut, after many years, discovered the secrets of shapechanging, and took the form of a man to travel the world incognito and lend help where he could. He collected some of the light flung from his father's scales in a shining cruet and traveled around to the hidden dragons, distributing it as a blessing, which in turn made their scales shine bright as precious metal.

Followers

Noveakrin has never had very many clerics, but he is perhaps one of the most prayed-to deities across Ekaia for the universality of his invention of currency and the need for it. He is a firm proponent of order and fairness, decidedly frowning upon thievery, extortion, embezzlement, or any other illegitimate means of obtaining wealth, including things such as unjust taxation. The center of his order is located in the Vundkragi town of Jaskismok.
