Lapendra

The lapendras are a rare type of powerful elemental creature. Most of what is known for certain about them was discovered by the Light Brigade during their Eventide adventuring. There were three pairs of light and dark lapendras, with the dark bound to the light. They were created at some point during the Age of the Meydra, and it is now known that one light lapendra was slain by Vetrano the Illustrious, causing one other to retreat to a remote corner of the Shadowfell to mourn for many centuries. Over time, this lapendra and its dark counterpart merged into one, a being that was called by the Cult of the Runic Dusk "the Crepuscule," and which was slain by the Light Brigade in late EL 1000.
The lapendras are magically notable for deriving all their power and life force from a stone-like core at the center of their chests, called "aniliths." While in one sense described as physical objects, in another sense the aniliths are pure spirit. There has been very little opportunity to observe or study them.
There is presumably one light lapendra still living, though its location is not known.
