Personal history
As a child of the Lower Houses, Alex's childhood is split into two periods, his early adolescence spent in the Common Schools, and his young adulthood in the academies of the Rose Garden. While it is in his teens and early twenties that Alex would establish himself as a strong and effective leader, he would attribute the happiest days of his life to his time in the Commons, with childhood friends Felix A. Crowley, and Meryl J. Kingsport.
The three became fast friends from an early age, with Meryl the binding glue that kept the initially hostile Alex and Felix from fighting, at least to the point that they couldn't still be friends. Their friendship would continue even after Meryl and Alex started school in the Garden, while Felix would go on to attend a military academy under recommendation from his father. This rift between them would prove difficult to mend at first, but as Alex became deeper entrenched in the family business, he would recruit Felix for assistance, as Alex wanted to help Felix earn money, and the two worked excellently as a team.
The duo would continue to work together under the supervision of Alex's sister until 47 TE, following the Millward Incident.
Education
Having attended schooling in both the Commons and the Garden, Alex is well educated in court philosophy and real world trade and practice. While never the most adamant student in traditional classrooms, a young Alex would have found himself buried in history textbook as if it were a romance novel, scientific diagrams as though they were engaging children's puzzles, and took especially high interest in the martial arts, learning swordsmanship from Lord Admiral Edward S. Crowley, and Irohan martial arts alongside Felix from his mother, Emily Shuwen.
