#46 The Elder Echo

General Summary

After freeing the Maal'Gilderon and each being granted, each member of the party asks the following questions: Tia Tsukiko asks where the 6 artifacts of Krayak (Artifacts of Arvard) are. It tells here there is on in Drenick , one in Tauriem, one in Makkvir , one in the forest near Eldermount (in Dravaria ), one is somewhere in the Unquenchable Flame, and one is in an unknown location.
Zarax'Vuum asks where the man Kelrook Voe lives. It tells him that he lives in Relderim in Grindal.
Korradin Xerthall asks how to wield the 6 relics against Krayak. The Elder Echo tells him that if all 6 artifacts are brought to the place where they were made--brought to the First Tower--then a being of sufficient strength could use their combined power against Krayak.
Draktus Glayde first asks where he ranks among the non-magical duelists of the world. It tells him in the top 1%, but since the question did not have a definite answer, it allows him to also ask who the greatest duelist in the material plane is. It tells him that it is Carn Irax.
Aelen Moongrove asks for a history of Veron . It tells him that Veron was once a captain in the Green Guard, and that some of his men were killed on a mission. Later, Fenyin showed Veron that they were in fact trapped in plane of agony under his control, and that Veron needed to steal the Crest of Ethelmar to have them released. Because the mission failed (the group arranged to steal the crest was double crossed by Preyandus) Fenyin required additional service from Veron. Eventually, Veron realized his men would never be saved and stopped following Fenyin's orders.
After asking their questions, the Elder Echo disappears, and the group explores the rest of the cave. They find little of note, and return the villagers, who are overjoyed at their success. During this time Korradin stages a mystic ritual in one of the shelters that confuses the crowd. After this, they notice a villager playing with the children who seems uninterested in their success. The villager turns out to be the jester Ereklos, who claims that he simply goes where people need to be entertained, and people need to be entertained here. He denies being a avatar of a deity, but says he simply goes where he pleases. With that he bids them farewell and heads into one of the village huts.
The Adventurers decide to continue on down the River Styx, and after 3 more days they arrive in the abyss. A day and a half later, they head threw a narrow tunnel into a landscape of fire and ash. Zarax tells them they have arrived in the Unquenchable Flame, and after they pay him, he bids them farewell.
