Pierre Rostova
His Luminescence Petteri Ivanovich Rosenthal- Rostova (a.k.a. Pierre)
"He seems to love you very much. Desire you. I mean, not love. This isn’t love. This is an obsession. Passion. Madness." Hananina Amaya to Pierre Rostova, (Angel or Empress)
Pierre Ivanovich Rostova is a south manakayan merfolk from North Laguarda. At 15 he offered himself up to be the next Isaya (saviour/sacrifice) as a bid to try and earn the trust and love of his people, and possibly help his family out of poverty. Amongst his travels he kept sketchbooks as journals, using a self-made system of runes to communicate through artwork to his loved ones. This artworks later came to be the deeply controversial Saviour journals which are still being attempted to be deciphered to this day.
Pierre would never get to fully see the end of his sacrifice - as on his journeys he had gained the love of the Empire's prince, who would usurp his own throne and gain control to 'rescue' Pierre into his clutches. This act, framed as an act of love in latter Empire-based records.
Physical Description
Facial Features
Pierre is a south-sea Merfolk of mixed heritage giving him a solar-based skin tone akin to land races such as the Jani or Elvenfolk instead of a temperature based skin tone more common amongst Merfolk and other aquatic races. Pierre's skin can shift from the solar-based skin tone to blue shimmering scales more common amongst aquatic folk when exposed to water or water-like liquid substances (e.g. Juice, Wine, etc), which is a common mutation amongst south-sea merfolk (especially specifically Laguardan Merfolk!)
Identifying Characteristics
Pierre can always be picked out of a crowd by his exceptionally long hair (a trait he has been mostly cornered into by Emperor Cassian) and his iridescent blue fish-fins.
Mental characteristics
Gender Identity
Despite being born intersex with both parts, Pierre was socialised to be male and considers himself to be masculine as a baseline.

Relationships
Pierre considers his native language to be Kayastayu / North Laguardan due to his position within Laguarda become a mostly Kayastayu-speaking region however from a very young age he could speak North and South Laguardan. Pierre knew a small amount of basic Nezuroban and a smattering of other languages due to his father's work as a truck driver that he would sometimes join in the summer. However he chose to further his language understanding and learning to better speak and converse with the people he would meet as the Isaya.
