Personal history

Born to genasi parents, Gustavo always enjoyed music and storytelling. Consequently, he spent many late nights with his grandfather who worked as an entertainer. His grandfather filled his head with stories of ancient heroes and even taught Gustavo how to play the harp. As Gustavo grew older, he would accompany his grandfather on trips to taverns to perform. His father, however, was not pleased with Gustavo's desire to become an entertainer like his grandfather. Gustavo's father was a wealthy businessman who intended on having Gustavo take over the business once he was capable. Gustavo was not keen on this, however, and continued to hang out with his grandfather.
One of the stories his grandfather would often recount during their time together was about a genasi monk named Gwendolyn Ashglade who was born with power over the four main elements. In order to better control her powers, as well as magnify them to defeat a great evil, she had a magical gauntlet made that was called the Gauntlet of the Four Elements. Gustavo's grandfather told him that the story was one of truth and not fiction, filling the young Gustavo's mind with the desire to seek out the artifact.
One day, when Gustavo was still a young child, only ten years old, Gustavo's father threw Gustavo's grandfather out of the house and told him to never return. Heartbroken, Gustavo snuck out of his house to join his grandfather on the road. Together, the two travelled Vukeron for a decade, performing at various taverns. Unfortunately, when Gustavo was 20, his grandfather died. While on his deathbed, the two talked at length and Gustavo vowed that he would acquire the Gauntlet of the Four Elements.
After his grandfather's death, Gustavo continued performing at taverns to save money for his quest. His travels would lead him to the small town of Grendale, whereupon he would meet a human barbarian and a vect fighter who would all help to repel an orc attack. Together, these three would adventure together and form the Crimson Dragons adventuring party and mercenary band. During his adventures, Gustavo sired at least two children. Both of these children turned out to be fiendish in origin but still bore some elemental power. The first of his children was a cambion born from his union with a succubus and the second was a pit fiend who was sired from a union with a tiefling cultist of Asmodeus. Gustavo had many adventures with the Crimson Dragons but the most notable and relevant of them would be when he gathered all of the mithril keys he needed in order to claim the Gauntlet of the Four Elements and his assistance in the destruction of the Dark Druid. Gustavo also commissioned a powerful archmage to create a demiplane that would serve as a holding cell. The demiplane, originally intended for the Dark Druid, became the home of an evil clone of Estok.
After the Battle at the Darkkeep, Gustavo retired and rebuilt his hometown of Darvenguard. During the rebuilding, he true polymorphed himself into a gold dragon. He became the ruler of his town and ruled over it for approximately 200 years before the Ashfall occurred. The Ashfall wiped out those that lived in the southeast of Vukeron and reduced Darvenguard to ruins. Gustavo has not made an appearance at any court or town in the years following the Ashfall and is thus presumed to be dead.
