Genasi

Genasi

The genasi are a planetouched race of humanoids influenced by the elemental planes. Genasi can be formed in a variety of ways. These include the union of a mortal and an elemental being, exposure to powerful elemental forces, or, in rare cases, the spontaneous creation of a full-grown genasi in the elemental planes, born of ancient primal magics. There have even been tales that state that some genasi are forged or built in various places in the elemental planes.   The most famous genasi to ever live on Edradus was Gwendolyn Ashglade. Gwendolyn was a genasi of unthinkable elemental might, being a genasi of the four elements. Despite her power, she had no control and was a danger to herself and those around her. Eventually, she was taken in by monks who taught her to harness her power. Later in life, she had a gauntlet created to heighten her power in order to defeat an evil warlord named Kurn the Cruel. After her death, the gauntlet, called the Gauntlet of the Four Elements, was hidden away so evil would not be able to use its power. In the year 1023 of the First Era, this gauntlet would be recovered by the air genasi bard Gustavo Maximo for use against the Dark Druid.

Air Genasi

The air genasi are genasi born of the power of elemental air. As creatures of the Elemental Plane of Air, their personalities can range from those like a calm breeze to those like an unending thunderstorm. Like the Djinn, they enjoy foods with rich flavors and smooth silks. Due to these lavish tastes they often seek out coin to afford their high standards or positions of power.   The most famous air genasi to live is Gustavo Maximo. Born to a long line of genasi, Gustavo ran away from home to become a bard. His interest in the legend of Gwendolyn Ashglade led to him becoming a bard of the college of lore. Eventually, he helped to found the Crimson Dragons. The Crimson Dragons would then go on to assist Gustavo in the recovery of the Gauntlet of the Four Elements which would be the main factor in his rise to fame within the genasi race's history.

Earth Genasi

The earth genasi are genasi born of the power of elemental earth. As the spawn of the Elemental Plane of Earth, they generally have patient personalities and possess a will like that of iron. Like the Dao, earth genasi may sometimes be cruel and greedy, especially when beings of elemental water or precious metals and gems are concerned. Their lust for precious metals and gems as well as their attunement to the earth will oftentimes lead earth genasi to become miners or prospectors.

Fire Genasi

The fire genasi are genasi born of the power of elemental fire. As beings of the Elemental Plane of Fire, their personalities are often explosive. They also can have volatile moods due to their relation to the Efreet as well as the fiery blood running through their veins. Fire genasi raised by an Efreet are generally treated as a servant or slave rather than as a child. This type of life often leads to that genasi becoming cruel and self-serving rather than a passionate and driven individual like other fire genasi.   The most notable fire genasi alive is Driggag Vokalen. An orphan for the entirety of his childhood, Driggag was infatuated with the beauty of nature. He was eventually adopted by the spirit of nature itself and he became a druid. Naturally attuned to the element of fire, he became a member of the wildfire circle of druids. Early on, he joined the Crimson Dragons and would adventure with the other members of the inner circle. Driggag created the epic spell known as Vokalen's Volcanic Eruption. After destroying the Dark Druid, he was imbued with the divinity that his adoptive mother as well as the slain Dark Druid possessed. Thus, Driggag ascended and became the god of wildfires.

Water Genasi

The water genasi are genasi born of the power of elemental water. As scions of the Elemental Plane of Water, their personalities tend to be everchanging and unpredictable like the infinitely flowing ocean of their plane. Like the Marids, water genasi may be independent and prone to mood swings. Their connection to water leads many genasi to lives at or near the sea. Some choose to become sailors and pirates while others may choose to become fishermen.
