The seat of government and the capital city of the Auskerian Empire, the capital became the first city and the founding of the nation when the Aurelian realized that the survival of their species was at stake due to terminal fear within the world over magic.   This capital was built over the remains of a very large lake city, destroyed during a war through the use of chemical weapons that wiped out the cities original population. Over the years, this chemical has dissipated, leaving behind the ruins of the old city. The new people repurposed many of the old buildings that could still be used while knocking down and salvaging the one's that were too dangerous for people to live in.   In 356CR, when the city and nation were founded, the city only had a population of just over two thousand. By 2089CR that number had risen to just over ten thousand people and by the end of the Civilization Renewed Era that number tempered off to just over eighteen thousand people. The city is the most populace within the nation, and also, the most heavily guarded thanks to a sophisticated bulwark that doesn't require the need's of a wall in order to operate. The lack of this wall maintains the cities overall beauty and provides the citizens with a clear view of the surrounding forest.   Due to the capital's importance, outsiders are typically forbidden from entering without permission from the cities administrative government and even then must be placed under guard as some area's of the city are off-limits to non-citizens.

Government

The capital is run rather loosely, with laws, mandate, and regulations kept to a minimum and just enough for the city to run and function but to intrude on other people's rights. As the nation itself is governed by a constitution similar to one from another nation many years in the past. These laws are mainly aimed at reducing waste and garbage, but also, in preserving the environment.   Taxes in the capital are actually rather average, this is because as more people more or are born in the capital and the population goes up, the taxes either rise or fall. At its founding, the taxes were very high, but as of the current year, taxation has tempered off to make the city a place where people can live even if their income isn't very high.   The city is broken up into fifteen districts, each one with their own lord that oversee's the administrative duties of that district, this takes the load off the central government whose main purpose is to run the city in its entirety. Each district serves a purpose for the capital, an example being the districts on the outside of the bulwarks are for agriculture while those on the inside are for industry, commercial, and residential along with education and military.

Public School System

Unlike other cities within the nation, Jukala has a public school system that requires all children between the ages of six and twelve to attend school for primary education, this is a requirement because the capital wants its younger population to be prepared and educated for the world.

Mandatory Military Service

All capital citizens are required to spend at least four years in the military, knowing how to operate magitech weaponry, vehicles, and other equipment in the defense of the Empire. Any citizen caught trying to avoid this service is imprisoned and sent to a penal unit.

Defences

The capital is protected by one of the most advanced Bulwarks that the Majikkuyūzā ever created, this bulwark is multilayered and capable of withstanding attacks from Daemon's for up to several months due to the cities plentiful supply of food and access to water.    A secondary line of defense are magitech walls, which are recessed into the surrounding landscape and can be summoned when the Bulwark begins to fail. These walls are ten inches thick and have a tower every built into them once every fifty feet.

Industry & Trade

The capital has a number of different industries, including agriculture, but its primary industry is the creation of airships. It mainly imports wood, metal, and other items needed for airship construction while it also exports airship parts to other cities for repair or retrofitting. However, perhaps its most important industry is education, as it contains several magical based schools and one of the largest academies in the nation.

Infrastructure

The capital is crisscrossed by a network of walkways and gondola paths that are used to transport people and goods, there is also a limited form of a teleportation that can be used in emergencies to take people to evacuation shelters located underground or in the event of war to send troops to the front lines. Power is provided by the lack in the form of watermills, these mills only provide power to their individual area's and not to the entire city. Instead, people rely upon crystal powered lights to help illuminate the city during the night and in their travels.   Due to it's location, waste can be a problem; a sophisticated system of sewer pipes runs beneath the city that takes all waste toward a central processing facility that breaks down the waste utilizing magitech, this purified water is then pumped out into the ocean. Additional centers are located around the city to reduce the amount of waste the citizens generate but also to reduce the amount of garbage as well, large furnaces are used to incinerate combustibles while recycling centers are available for people to dispose of garbage that can be reclaimed. Anything that can't be reclaimed, or destroyed, is sent to a large laval pit located over one hundred kilometers from the city to be disposed of.

Assets

The capital maintains a large variety of stores and other items, including vehicles and equipment that adventures or regular people can purchase for their journey into the unknown. Shops that sell magical items are typically only located near magical schools, and provide a discount to magical students so that they can get better at their craft more easily. Weapon and Armor shops are usually found near the more industrialized area's of the city, close to the blacksmiths and weaponsmiths that produce such equipment.   Stables, while rare in the city due to the way it was designed, are typically found on the east and western approaches as they are the only area's that have land access.

Tourism

Despite the restriction on non-citizens, it is actually a rather popular place for people from other nations to come to do the clean water that the city sits upon. Tourists tend to want to visit the lake but also the various temples that dot the city as well as viewing the many statues that have been created over the centuries by the Majikkuyūzā people with most tourists staying in hotels.   One of the main draws for tourism for the glow that the lake gives off during the morning and evening hours.

Architecture

Much of the cities architecture takes its appearance from old Japanese buildings, this is due to the cities previous inhabitants having been of Japanese descent. However, this also has to do with the Majikkuyūzā own religious preferences and their belief that people should be able to live within their means and not have to take up a very large footprint.   Unlike other nations, whose homes and buildings are built with large open spaces; the homes in the capital are small enough to accommodate a family of four. Small buildings are built out of wood while larger one's are built out of stone or brick and reinforced using magitech materials in order to create a strong building while maintaining an old world appearance.

Geography

The capital is located right over a very large lake, this gives the capital access to fresh water. It's location, and the low buildings, allow the residents to take in the beauty of the lake and the wild-life that live within and around it. The lake is surrounded by a large forest with tall trees that, during the summer heat, shield some of the city from the sun.   Due to what grows beneath the lake, during the morning and evening hours, it gives off a bluish glow that many people - including tourists - come to see.

Natural Resources

The capital is located near the forest which allows it to harvest wood for the creation of buildings or for the exportation to other industries, it also has access to large fields of greenery for agriculture. There are deposits of oil, gas, and other minerals beneath the lake that the city has chosen not to tap into; though these deposits also exist in other areas of the nation that they can get to without much worry of destroying the environment.   One of the most notable resources however are Ceruluem Crystal's which grow naturally beneath the water which gives it a glittering appearance. These crystal's are occasionally mined but most are considered off-limits in order to maintain beauty.
