Country of Okoda

The Country of Okoda is one of the largest nations found on Eskelia, it is also one of the most populated with over sixty million people and growing. The nation is known for its class-related system, where nobility reside in the capital and the peasantry reside out in towns and villages, with the capital being completely off limits.   Okoda has no love for other nations, largely due to their expansionist ideology. They also have a strong desire to control whatever it is that can add to their power base, an example being magic. Peasants are not permitted to practice it, only nobility can.   Their military is comprised largely of infantry due to being near a rather large forest, though they do possess some vehicles such as tanks and artillery that they have stolen from neighboring countries.

Structure

The country is used as an Imperial Monarch, with the Emperor and Empress wielding absolute power.

Culture

The culture of Okoda bares some resemblance to their original culture from before the Great War, this is because Okoda is one of only two nations that survived that war albeit losing almost 94% of its entire population. This has turned a nation whose citizens were once open and kind to stranger, into one that is suspicious and harboring of resentment.   Language   Okoda's main language is a mix of Russian and English. It's written language structure is comprised of forty one characters, each one serving a different purpose to another and having a separate meaning. Words as well, some words are spelled the exact same way but have a completely different meaning depending on their usage. An example being the word 'kind'. When used among family, that word means that the person is nice however when used in a derogatory fashion, it can be the exact opposite and refer to the person as being cruel and inhumane.   Religion   The nation's peasantry are not permitted to practice religion, as it is something only the nobility are allowed to do. The religion the nobility practice is known as 'Cathesnase' a religion whose believer feel that the world belongs to them and only them, and that everyone else are interlopers and thus they pray that said interlopers are dealt with in a cruel manner.   Broader World   The Nobility of the Nation view the world at large as nothing more than a stepping stone for power, every nation, every person, as a pawn to get what they want. They have no care for the individual and instead care only about themselves. The Peasantry, on the other hand, are different and instead view the world with curiosity but also suspicion.
