Travels toward the Tentacle

Our group, now freshly joined by Rose Faendraerl, make their way down south, hoping to follow the river west.

There was a long way to go and the group had decided they would go it. The first night bore no great love.   They found themselves beset by a strange creature called a Kipine, a strange amalgamation of various animals including an elk, owl and maybe a bit of bear. They dispatched it quickly, but from where did this heretofore unknown animal come from?   The next day brought them to Gyndrin's great southern bridge. A small city in its own right, this mile wide bridge took the shape of a town that had been stretched over a great distance. It was fraught with shops and thugs... The latter they encountered accosting a group of travellers, claiming stolen gold. Our heroes successfully intimidated them away and continued on their path. The next day brought them to camping by the road, but a passing traveller offered the advice that the town of Andakilsa was just a few hours walk, and they would surely find a warm bed there. They took his advice and found that and more, some rumors, stories about children being kidnapped my owlbears in the mountains above Yui'tian and a man's wife being kidnapped. They decided to follow up on this kidnapping lead and found themselves embroiled in solving a murder, discovering a secret hideout, getting ambushed by slavers, then killing and frightening them into giving up.   Through some interrogation they discovered that these slavers hailed from a mine just to the south of Andakilsa, through the desert covering the northern edge of The Kraken's Tentacle. They informed the Headman of the town and while he couldn't provide any military resources, he could provide the desert crossing gear his town was famous for. Now they rest and prepare to head out the next day, seeking to free some slaves.
