The Gold-re-claimers

The group heads toward the Tentacle, braving the harsh desert in pursuit of revenge and the safety of innocents. They find only death, conflict and something beyond even their strange experiences...

The desert was a harsh journey, but thanks to their preparedness by the headman and his help they made it across no problem arriving at The Kraken's Tentacle by nightfall. After some exploring they found a mine nestled between two spurs of the mountain. They also found, between another set of nearby spurs, a corporate militia sent by the The Gold-claimers, set to destroy everyone in the mine with judicious application of deadly gas. After a bit of successful double-agent work by Wudgh, they speak to the Militia leader, Brucie, a dwarf with a magnificent beard, and she begrudgingly admits her plans are shot now, and she will prepare to ambush the slavers should they try to escape.   The heroes they are, the group decides to penetrate the mine ahead of the gas to free the slaves. They are forced to break open a tunnel wall and reveal their position; immediately being detected by the guards there. After some tough tunnel fighting and attempted misdirection, the group goes on full offensive and takes down almost every one of their opponents quickly and easily except for the last.   This last, the man named Jaspar that Wudgh had talked to, had just taunted them with a hostage, a claim they called as a bluff. He gruesomely dispatched the girl by tossing her on an oil fire, and now he moved against the rest of the slaves, ignoring Wudgh's attacks. His laughter maniacal and his comments wild and desperate, he seemed at the end of his rope. He managed to get two of the captives with his blade before he was brought down by Wudgh's tackle and finished by Coffee's sword.   As Coffee dealt the final blow, he sliced clean through Jaspar's neck. However instead of the splash of blood they expected, a thick black substance slithered out of the slash and onto the ground a few feet away. It formed up into an amorphous shape and... the rest will be told next time.
