The Root of Sylvone Kyterion Sril (a.k.a. Ky)
Ky was once a happy young gnome. A member of the race of jungle gnomes, Ky never believed anything could interrupt his carefree lifestyle, until he was selected. In a panic he fled his people, venturing across the continent until he thought he was far enough away to avoid his destiny. Perhaps someone else will be chosen, maybe they'll be fine..., he thought, and continued on.
With his life behind him he found himself trapped in a spiders web, left to wait until by some random chance he was found by a friendly... suit of armor? He didn't know how this creature came to be, but he was nice and maybe this could be his new life? Maybe Oberon would allow him to be free, but still have someone to rely on? He decided to follow the Soulbound on his adventures, eventually ending up in Teontia!
The big city blew the little gnome away, but he never strayed from his friend and soon found himself in a real hunters guild. Turns out his new companion worked for this guild and he needed to go back to pick up some more contracts. Ky waited patiently while Oberon went about his business then came back to inform him where they were going next. The northern jungles... Ky knew this had to be a coincidence. He would just hide his appearance, help Oberon on his way and get in and out, no worries.
However, things didn't go to plan, like usual. Ky was revealed, he was brought before Tig's Root and made to answer for his absence. He also learned his home was in danger, beset on all sides by darkness. Oberon tried to help him out of the situation but Ky knew it was too late, he had to go back home. After some struggles to get through to Sylvone, they finally made it and found it under attack by the forces of Lolth, the spider queen!
Thanks to Oberon's efforts, Ky and the team made it into the inner sanctum of the Hometree, a sealed area within the trunk that the Root calls his home. Ky was fraught with fear of his destiny laid out before him and Oberon tried to take his place. However this was a failure and Oberon was obliterated along with most of the armor that housed his soul.

Ky decided then that enough was enough and took up the seat. Now surrounded by the pieces of Oberon, as if in one final embrace. They continue to wait there, til this day, trying to fight a guerrilla war against the spiders.
