Some people follow faith to explain parts of their lives. Some people follow it to believe in something greater than themselves. Some people follow faith in order to find a missing piece of themself. And some people join it for the only reason a lot of people join groups, for the benefits.
Zepar Gothica is the latter.
One of the monstrous Dukes of The Gothica Family, Zepar has never hurt or wanted for anything in his life, but he loves, loves, LOVES money. But more than that, he loves other people's money! His parents, in charge of money laundering for the previous Zepar, made sure to teach him the importance of wealth, gold, and a good cheat.
He made sure to take these lessons to heart, as he stole enough of Zepars money for it to be noticeable, but was also crafty enough to shift the blame to his parents.
But the previous Zepar saw a bit of themself in the young child and decided that he would be the new Zepar. Whether this was a punishment or a reward depends on your point of view.
As the current Zepar came of age and decided to settle in Paris along with so many others in the family, he found himself fascinated with The Ascendants and The Reborn in particular, especially as the goddess was supposedly the source of all the Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum of the world.
Arriving in the city, Zepar saw an untapped market of a Goddess of Finance and his winning charisma and set out to create The Church of The Enriched Reborn, a financial-based sect of the faith that seeks to cure people in earnest, while also charging them disgusting amounts and praising donations as the cornerstone of faith.
This is all to serve Zepars personal love of coin and wealth, although this has evolved over the years into the love of the followers that give him wealth and reverence, and he does care about them, as he needs to keep the money coming for his own desires.
