Theogany

The Ever Shining, the City of Stone and Magic, the capital of Magnum Opus, brilliant Theogany. Originally a tangled knot in the weave of the Leylines, centuries of Druids, Wizards, and Clerics came together to rearrange it in a safe pattern, becoming the first organization of Weave-Casters in Edda. Now, Theogany is a well of natural Magical Energy, which can be felt in the sheer energy of the place.   Not only does this make it a hotbed for enchanters, artificers, magical crafters, and students of the arcane, it also means that even entities of other planes can feel at home with the mana seeping from the ground itself.   Made the capital of Magnum Opus after the border wars, Baal Diomedes the Third, the heir to an aristocratic textile family but first in the line with magical power, was crowned the ruler of the country, although many would know that he was rather reluctant in this.   In the modern-day, Theogany is a haven for Mages, Merchants, Mercenaries, and just about any other non-alliterative job one can think of, as it's a center for commerce, trade, and shipments to the rest of Edda, even typically uninterested areas of the land due to Theogany's intense focus on friendly trades and relations.   It's also a strong center for citizen welfare, providing housing, job security, and previously unheard-of things like comprehensive relief and support for just about any situation.

Demographics

Theogany is an incredibly diverse city, due to the efforts of King Diomedes the 3rd. It is mostly Human, Dwarf, and Gnomish, with an additionally strong number of Elves and Orcs, with basically every other race making up at least 100 members of the population.

Government

Theogany is run by The Theogany Senate, a conglomerate of representatives from each district within Theogany, along with widespread groups, who collectively meet, discuss, and rule the land and its surrounding properties. It can be quite hectic, but runs efficiently enough under the eye of King Diomedes

Defences

The walls of Theogany have stood even through the Border Wars, and the soldiers that man them are trained and at the ready when the moment requires, not mentioning the vast amount of mages within the city. In history, the cities greatest defense has been the relations it builds with the outside world, and the calm charisma of its king.

Industry & Trade

Theogany is, again, a Merchant city, and most of the revenue comes from such things, along with generous tax rates from the individuals who are particularly lucky in their sales.

Infrastructure

Theogany has some resources like Lumber Factories, along with some small mechanical organizations, along with their Mage Colleges, but the most prosperous thing about Theogany is its Merchant population. Craftsmen, general stores, collectors, traders, you name it and it'll be there.

Assets

Theogany holds a vast amount of storefronts selling just about anything an adventurer could, would, and should want, even if they don't know it. Furthermore, the natural fertility of the land around them allows for a massive amount of natural resources to be housed and refined in Theogany, including everything from prized vegetables to rare ore and gems.

Guilds and Factions

There are few hard-lined factions within Theogany, but many know there is a Thieves Guild presence within the city, along with the illustrious mercenary guild: The Violet Jewels.

Architecture

The buildings in Theogany are all crafted from light stone and lightly colored woods, giving the entire city a bright appearance. The Lower-End living sectors tend to have smaller, but neat houses, that get larger and more intricate as the property value increases. The Markets tend to have more wood than stone, with buildings that open up for display windows, while the Arcane Ward tends to use darker stone and metal that conducts magical energy more efficiently.

Geography

Theogany is built on a flat hill, so while there is some elevation coming in and out of the Castle Center, most of the incline comes from the road to the cities walls. Furthermore, the northern part of Theoganies territory lends itself to shimmering tundra's, and an excellent view of the ocean that surrounds Edda.
