East Kaguya [東のかぐや]

A land of rolling plains and high mountains, split into East and West after a brutal civil war. Eastern Kaguya embraces the wider world it's connected too, mingling freely and evolving their ideals while re-examining older traditions.

Structure

In Eastern Kaguya, the Empress makes royal decrees and executive decisions, but she has a council of Magistrates, otherwise known as Heavenly Voices or Tensei [天声] to handle the more bureaucratic issues, or menial tasks.

Culture

Kaguyan culture has always had strong associates to natural elements of the world, and working alongside the myriad of spirits that come from the natural mana fusing with the strong Leylines of the country. As Eastern Kaguya embraces the new styles and ideals of the wider world of Edda however, there is a cultural conflict occurring, where tradition is jutting up against modernity.

Public Agenda

Preserving natural lands and maintaining the culture of their ancestors.

Assets

East Kaguya and it's northern neighbor of Boncly have cornered the Eddan Market on Gunpowder. First discovered when a rock slide grinded and combined the necessary elements, resulting in a thankfully nonlethal but flashy explosion, Eastern Kaguyans use it to have a presence in the world stage, especially since Boncly is much more secluded than them. They also have a unique amount of steel, tinted Blue by the pure mana that goes into it.

Demography and Population

Kaguya as a whole mostly consists of Elven and Tiefling inhabitants, although many of the sole Elves have left for other lands such as the neighboring Hippolyta, and many other races moving in has resulted in more Half-Elven population than full Elven. Most other races stick to the larger populated areas, where they're less likely to stick out.

Military

Eastern Kaguyan Tennoha are accepted into the ranks at the age of 16 minimum, and undergo training for 4 to 8 years in proper warfare, battle tactics, different techniques, and special skills depending on what unit they desire to join.

Technological Level

Magic and Magitech advancements are plentiful in the capital, and begin to peter out as it moves into rural landscapes.

Religion

Both Eastern and Western Kaguya worship The Divine Court, worshiping astral entities tied to such things as seasons and seasonal patterns, although both sides have different interpretations of their meanings. Eastern Kaguyans views them more as those who watch and advise the world.

Foreign Relations

When the civil war in Kaguya occured, it was due to two opposing views: maintaining tradition in the face of the new world, or opening up to the rest of Edda after The Border War. Eastern Kaguya is the side that wished to mingle with the outside world, leading them to do just that. While Western and Eastern Kaguya are on shaky terms at the very least, to the rest of the world Eastern Kaguya is an eccentric and valuable ally.

Agriculture & Industry

The wide and fertile plains of Kaguya as a whole lends itself to a grand amount of farming for field vegetables and grains, along with animal rearing. Alongside that, Blue Steel production keeps those in mountainous regions in business. Outside of material production jobs, Eastern Kaguya is at the height of experimental fashion and artistry.

Trade & Transport

Most of the pathways of Kaguya aren't paved, so most travel is either on foot, on steed, or via the rivers, or one can risk a very bumpy car ride.

Education

Outside of the capital, Kaguya as a whole doesn't have much of an institutional education system. Children will learn from their families, neighbors, and anyone they apprentice under.

Infrastructure

Before the civil war, Kaguya had been able to take a page of other countries books and begin installing plumbing systems. While smaller cities will not have ones as robust as the capital, they are quite functional.
