Emperor
The title given to the leader of an empire. They rule over multiple kingdoms which are each rulled by Lords or Barons. Ecoth's history has been defined by massive empires and so many great emperors have existed throughout the ages...
In every empire the title of Emperor means something slightly different, with some empires not even calling it by the same name. However patterns can clearly be seen between the different cultures this title appears in and how it has been ued throughout history to command the respect of all under its authority.
The Old Dynasty
The Dynasty carried the title of Emperor over from the Dynastal Empire that came before it. The first Emperor, Iswold I, had just won the Dynastal Civil War (-5296-90) and feared future revolts against the Dynal Throne so created the religion of New Dynalism which held Dynal Emperors as the decendants of Gods and therefore worthy of everyone's respect. The religieon became popular in the year -5278 just as the Dynasty entered its golden age. Iswold had implimented the worship of the emperor into every aspect of New Dynalism leading to a subconscious love of the emperor amoung the Dynal people. This continued with the popularity of New Dynalism until the Dynal Civil War (-4735-30) which began the religion's decline.
Early in the Dynasty's existance the Emperor acted much like any other emperor, having complete control over the Dynasty and leading his soldiers on the front line of battle. These were common things for a leader to do at the time and earned the title and individual respect amoung their citizens and soldiers. In famous conflicts such as the Great South War (-4761-59) and the Buzhanan War (-4759-53) Emperors such as Solvin VI became ledgends for their involvement amoungst their men. However after the Dynal Civil War and a series of weak emperors from -4730 to -4684 the title lost its respect and emperors tended to stay at home rather than go out and fight with their armies. This was mostly because of a president set by Nivshnot VII and the infliance of the Court of Lords across multiple decades. During the War of the Triumvirate Emperor Nivshnot IX didn't leave the Dynasty's teritories and in the Age of the Dynasty from -4534 emperors of the Dynasty became increacingly relient on the independence of Generals to conduct military campains whilst they focused on other economic and administrative tasks back in Capswold. As the Dynasty grew the Emperor had less and less power over the organisation as a whole, instead apointing high individuals to rule over whole regieons of the Dynasty's teritory. Despite this the emperor wasn't completly powerless as after a general foolishly started a war with the Nonans, Emperor Carchanous III put heavy restrictions on the power posessed by Generals then succesfully stopped them when they tried to coup him.
However the power of the Dynal Emperor did not last forever and in the year -30 the The Dundell, a resistance group working against the Dynasty, successfully overthrew the last Dynal Emperor and dissolved the Dynasty, ending the 5000 year old organisation and its line of Emperors forever.
Notable Holders
Dyanastal Empire
- Emperor Clouse IV expanded the Dynastal's teritories north to the mountains after wining a war in -5589
- Emperor Clouse VI was the last Emperor of the Dynastal Empire and was overthrown by his liegionaries in -5296
The Old Dynasty
- Emperor Iswold I sucsessfully defeated the corrupt legionaries in the Dynastal Civil War (-5296-90) and founded the Dynasty. He survived an arrow wound which gained him a divine status in the eyes of his followers.
- Emperor Sovin I brought about a golden age for the Dynasty after Iswold I final death.
- Emperor Nivshnot VII brought about the policy of Viripun which aimed to expand the Dynasty's teritories but failed.
- Emperor Ivonia IV was killed in -4761 and blame was placed on the Captirian Empire begining the Great South War but many believe it was actually his son Sovin VI.
- Emperor Solvin VI won both the Great South War (-4761-59) and the Buzhanan War (-4759-53).
- Emperor Nivshnot VII also known as Nivshnot the Mad, started the Dynal Civil War (-4735-30) and lost ending in his execution.
- Emperor Paravous I inherited the throne after Nivshnot VII was deposed but held little power compard to the Court of Lords which was etablished after the Civil War
- Emperor Tolvus II assended to the throne at fifteen and was a puppet for the Court of Lords. When he grew up and tried to resist them he was mysteriously killed.
- Empress Catarphra I solved a lot of the Dynasty's economic problems and prevented invasions from both barbarians and Buzhana. She was also the first woman to be an emperor of the Dynasty.
- Emperor Hecves I was the Bavoc husband of Catarphra who took over the throne after she died in -4702
- Emperor Murchous I became emperor aged five and was taken back by the Barvoks for his misteatment under the Court of Lords. He eventually managed to regain his throne after kicking out Emperor Vhercy.
- Emperor Vhercy I a Lord who took power after Murchous was taken by the Barvoks. He faced multiple attempts on his life before he was defeated by Murchous and Lord Drokes in -4689
- Emperor Yanavous I made peace with The Order of Cyconkight and supported the Traiphotian Empire in the Cytonknic rising.
- Emperor Nivshnot IX won the War of the Triumvirate (-4541-34).
- Emperor Caswold III brought the Independent Kingdoms of Capti into the Dynasty, completing the Dynasty's full occupation of Ecoth.
- Emperor Carchanous III ended the unquestioned powers of Generals in Ecoth and successfully prevented a coup organised by them in retaliation.
The Second Dynasty
- Emperor Rezide the Only the first emperor of The Second Dynasty and was overthrown by Visko Malow in a coup.
Buzhanan Empire
Buus Lineage- Notach Nachahch I united the ten tribes of the Lake Vukuu to form the Buus Empire
- Notach Varpuur III was the last Notach of the Buus Liniage and restricted the power held by other tribes causing the War of the Tribes (-5383-72) which ended in his execution.
- Notach Ravuuk I won the War of the Tribes (-5383-72) and became the first Notach of the Iruugh Liniage
- Notach Harvsus I fought in the Tarvuk Wars (-5334-03) and managed to ocupy most of the Tarvali Empire.
- Notach Ravuuk II founded the city of Ravuuka in the middle of the Hana Desert.
- Notach Buuhach II fought in the Xyanv Conflict (-5162-60) and absorbed the Xyanv decendancies into Buzhana
- Notach Vaggh III reserected the city of Ravuuka to tax travelers crossing the Hana Dessert in the gold rush
- Notach Harvsus VI fought Capti in the First South War (-4791-87)
- Notach Buuhach IV fought in both the Great South War (4761-59) and the Buzhanan Dynasty War (4759-53)
- Notach Vigu I tried to resist Dynasty occupation of Buzhana but failed to kick them out after multiple attempts.
Huvan Empire
- Emperor T,huran fought against and then formed an allience with the Captirian Empire around -5525.
Suhuvan Empire
- Valdous the Conqueror expanded the teritory of the Suhuvan Empire dramatically invading the kingdom of Aratachu.
- Emperor Husdine fought in the Fourth Boarder War (-4582-77) and set up Suhuvan assets for the War of the Triumvirate (4538-35).
- Emperor Valodinie attacked the Traiphotian Empire in the War of the Triumvirate (4541-34).
Captirian Empire
- Emperor Halerdron became the first emperor of the Zyglon Empire after overthrowing the six balantears.
- Emperor Jarnos I was a young emperor who was exiled for encoraging war between the Zyglons and Vilx but later staged an uprising on Tharn after which he was beheaded.
- Emperor Yarniciee I fought against and later formed a critical allience with the Huvan Empire around -5525.
- Emperor Noras II crowned in -5503, oversaw the expansion of the Captirian Empire into the Narch Region (-5498-95)
- Emperor Lauroun II famous for his obsession with gold, even consuming the metal reguarly and having an entire room in his palace created out of gold.
- Emperor Narition moved the capital of the Captirian Empire from Zyglos to Cornagath and was accused of being a Discrete Toronianist by his court, forcing his abdication in -4796 and later his death.
- Emperor Firond succeeded his father's problems in the division in Toronianism and fought in both the first and Great South Wars, in both suffering a humiliating defeat. He was assasinated in -4757.
Traiphotian Empire
- High King Photus I founded the Traiphotian Empire after defeating his oppressors in the War of the Four Kingdoms (-4838-23)
- Emperor Nuvort II expanded the Traiphotian Allience to the boarder kingdoms and renamed it to the Traiphotian Empire.
- Emperor Urt V fought in the Cytonknic Rising and successfully pushed for the removal of Cytonknic from warfare.
- Emperor Vukus II started the Third Boarder War (-4635-4628) with the Suhuvan Empire gaining a lot of sothern teritories.
- Emperor Vuvort II was the last Traiphotian Emperor when he was couped by one of his generals and later executed.
