Introduction:
The Imperial Multi-Pathogen Pill, or the IMP, is a pill required to be taken once by every imperial citizen in order to be legally recognized as an adult citizen. It contains nanobots, mRNA, and enzymes that come together to alter the genome in order to build immunity against all diseases.
Other Uses:
The IMP has a secondary function vital to all imperial citizens: the creation of the Neural Chip. Nanobots will retrieve minerals and metals from the host's diet and construct a biomechanical chip in their brain. This happens without any input and takes place over the course of about a week.
In addition to protecting the host against pathogens, the IMP also improves the immune system's method of identifying cancerous cells. Because of this, no person with the IMP can die of cancer unless they receive a near-lethal amount of radiation.
The IMPP in the UFH:
The
Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron sells the IMP to the
United Federation of Humanity whenever they are requested. The IMPs sold to the UFH are modified to inhibit the development of the Neural Chip, as the UFH has outlawed all neural chips without heavy regulations. Despite this only 3.4% of federal citizens have taken the IMP, and have instead opted to take the Maevala Shot. Most government officials have taken the IMP, due to the increased exposure they receive to alien pathogens.
