Houdwell

Houdwell is the capital of the City State of Icheros and center of trade for the whole of Ecari.
Ships leave and enter the harbor at all hours of the day, and caravans are loaded from one of the many warehouses of the city.
Trade goes both in the direction of The Ecarian Empire as well as the Free Lands of Paeko. Serving as a hub for trade between the two warring nations has made the city rich and prosper.
But due to the vast growth of the city in recent years and the many transients crime is also on the rise. Many districts are not safe at night, some not even during the day. There is also talk of an extensive black market residing in the city, even trading with forbidden goods such as souls.

Government

Houdwell is part of the plutocracy of the City State of Icheros. As such it is ruled by the richest merchants of the city, in particular the Lowe Family.

Infrastructure

The city has one large harbor with many piers, as well as several shipyards. Lumbermills dot the outside of the city, while the inside houses many warehouses and taverns.
