Five months after the death of the King, Regent Brask was finally able to consolidate power. One of his first proclamations it an account of the former king’s folly.

The detailed account of the death of King Kason was Intended to quash the few remaining internal calls for outside help, and as a warning against any other realms that might be thinking along the same lines, the announcement extinguished any possibility of reconciliation between Breland and Thrane.   Accusations of diabolism and prophecies of Brelish doom spilled from the Keeper and the Cardinals in a steady flow.
