Forest of Damphere
Located at the end of the River Hreth, on the island of Faergth, this forest was once a haven for a group of elves that survived Starfall. Using their magic, they carved deep paths in the forest floor to stop the rising waters from the newly formed river (Hreth means threatening in elven) from turning their forest into a swamp. These paths brought the waters through the forest in such a way that the trees could still flourish and the flora could thrive on the banks of the waters.
On its Own
Since the capture and enslavement of the elves the forest has been on its own, and has grown over all of the elven structures that were left, swallowing them as nature always does. For centuries it has been called the Forest of Silence, until the great Orc tracker Grendyl found the Damphere Plant and brought it back to the shamans for study. Little did she know what she had found or how popular this little forest would become in the decades to follow.Geography
This forest is unique for the area mainly because of the Starfall event. The climate changed so rapidly that some flora and fauna was forced to adapt rather quickly or perish, this forest did just that. It took several decades, but it held onto its coniferous trees despite being very hot and humid. The river that flows into this forest follows tiny rivers and never seems to flood the trees over much, due in part to the early elves tending of the deep water ways. Since their capture and enslavement, the forest has gone on alone and has done rather well.
Fauna & Flora
The Flora and Fauna here are much the same as everywhere else with relative adaptions to the humidity and heat. Reptiles abound and birds soar through the branches of the trees. The one notable oddity is the extremely powerful Damphere Plant This small plant started flourishing after the forest evolved and is a tiny wonder to nature. It is the reason that the orcs were able to silence the elves without mutilating them further, and has other properties in medicine as well.

More than just a pretty Plant
The forest might have become famous for the Damphere Plant, but that wasn't the only great find. Over the years shamans exploring the woods and waters also found the Gumdrop plant. This small plant grows almost like strawberries but is entirely green. It flourishes on the waters edge and is sweet like candy. Its properties are devious however. The Gumdrop plant is a strong seditive and anyone who eats more than two drops is unconcious for the day. More than four drops and they never wake up.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
