Misbeth Inkorathi

General Physical Condition

Misbeth is toned and powerfully built, but due to missing an arm, she is no longer able to carry as large of burdens as one might think.

Body Features

Misbeth's skin is a slate blue with dark patterns swirling symmetrically over her face and body. Her lithoderms seem to follow and accentuate the colorations. Her right arm is missing from just above the elbow.

Facial Features

Misbeth has a broad, square face with a wide set jaw. A thick, keloid scar runs straight down the left side of her face, stretching from her forehead across an empty eye socket and down her cheek.

Physical quirks

Misbeth is left handed, which was the silver lining of losing her right arm.

Special abilities

When Misbeth casts her magic, her missing eye and missing arm manifest in ethereal purple energy. The arm will gesticulate to perform the necessary movements for her spells, sometimes grasping a crackling bolt of lightning. She claims the missing eye and arm are in fact not missing, but her connection to magic, and the sacrifice that were necessary for her power.

Apparel & Accessories

She wears a sleeveless tunic made of wolf hides, that she only closes to just above her navel. Most of the time, she wears it with the fur outward facing, but in the dead of winter, will reverse it so that the fur is on the inside. She also wears practical leather pants and boots. She wears a simple strip of leather tied around her head and covering her left eye.   When she is out adventuring or fighting in the practice field, she will close up her tunic, and remove her headband, leaving her empty eye exposed. She wears a long staff with a single word carved into its shaft strapped across her back, and carries a center grip wooden shield in her left hand.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

When Misbeth's fortune was told at her birth, everyone expected great things from her, and as she grew up, she didn't disappoint. She led made her first kill in a hunt at 11, and led her first successful raiding party at 15. When she was 19, she challenged the chieftain of the tribe, her own father for leadership of the clan for the first time, but failed in the first challenge, the Challenge of Mind.   Two years later, she made another bid. But this time she was ready. For the mental challenge, naming the lineage of the tribal chieftains, she recalled 37 generations back, while her father only got 35. In the challenge of heart, she held a hot coal for several instants longer. The Challenge of steel, however, went poorly. Misbeth had chosen a spear and shield as her weapons, her father picked a great axe. As soon as the bout started, her father rushed her. Misbeth managed to draw first blood, nicking his neck as he came in. But the rush caught her off guard, and his axe bit through the shield, Misbeth's shield arm, and into her face far enough to ruin her left eye.   Her tribe cared for her the best they could, but they lacked the magics to properly heal her. Afterwards, Misbeth passed into a deep depression. It was apparent that her chances at leading her tribe were destroyed, and further, she could no longer pull her weight. No one said anything, but Misbeth realized after a few months that she was no longer contributing to her tribe, so in order to spare her tribe having to care for her thereafter, she decided to "die."   Her tribe performed her funeral rites, singing hymns to her as she walked away with just the clothes on her back. After walking into the mountains for a few days, she finally found a comfortable moss lined cave to die in. Misbeth started meditating on her death, and eventually fell asleep.   During her sleep, Misbeth dreamed. When she awoke, she found she had been granted new and strange abilities. Following some knowledge gleaned from the dream, Misbeth made her way to the nearest port, bartered some recreational mushrooms for passage, and journeyed to Idriell to continue her life after death.

Intellectual Characteristics

Despite lacking in a formal education, Misbeth is shrewd and intelligent. She is also very perceptive, and notices far more than she lets on.

Morality & Philosophy

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Misbeth loves simple foods: meats, mushrooms and roots, and is learning to appreciate good ale. She enjoys the satisfaction of making things with her own hands, or surviving by her own virtue. And when she is stressed, she finds solace in the seclusion of nature.   On the other hand, she has a hard time with sweet foods and drinks, and cannot deal with people who engage in empty talk.

Virtues & Personality perks

Misbeth is almost eternally calm and serene, absorbing what is happening around her and evaluating before acting.

Vices & Personality flaws

She considers it a piece of her spirituality rather than a recreation, but she does partake in hallucinogenic mushrooms on a somewhat regular basis.

Hygiene

Misbeth doesn't pay particular attention to her cleanliness. She will swim to bathe if she is starting to smell, but does not mine, and may even prefer having a slight layer of dirt on her skin; sticks and leaves can frequently be found tangled in her hair.

Social

Religious Views

Misbeth practices an animistic tradition. To her, everything has a spirit, each person, animal, plant and rock. Even abstract concepts, such as a spoken word, or a strong emotion have spirits, and these spirits must be respected. She also works closely with the Fair Folk, leaving offerings, cutting small deals with them for their assistance, and the likes.

Social Aptitude

Misbeth was raised in a very different culture. Her tribe was by necessity a tight knit community, and everyone worked to support one another. As such, she is still adapting to "down-the-mountain" life and may often come across as socially awkward.

Hobbies & Pets

She keeps two dairy goats as livestock.

Speech

She speaks Common with a strange accent. She has a solid grasp of grammar and diction, though it is overly formal, in sharp contrast to her uncivilized appearance.
