Legend Lore: The Gleaming Reservoir

Ancient research. Studied, altered, improved upon, made safe for a more modern age. A Gleaming Gate is so much more than a portal. It’s a source of possibility. Do the gods create something from nothing, or do they merely take raw potential and put it into an order, shunting the excess chaos from one location to another? The same as mortals do, on a grander scale.
A drop of chaos, filtered through the Gleaming Gates, shunted elsewhere, can create whatever is needed. Something from nothing. A reservoir, full of any resource imaginable. Honey. Jade. Steel. Rubies. Diamonds. Blood.
The scaley one gazed proudly upon their ultimate work, but old foes and strangers alike looked upon it with envy and greed.
