Legend Lore: Hamarut

Thousands of years before the Oshran empire rose and fell, Idriell was usurped from it’s benevolent leader, Hamarut; a dragon, made entirely of platinum. Hamarut was said to gift their scales to the worthy so that they may glimpse a fraction of their power, and to use it to shine a light on the darkness of the world. Their final fate is unknown to the world, but the lingering effects of their gifts live on to this day. The secretive Lanternbearers sought to preserve Hamarut’s intent to protect, and guarded the Shards that litter Idriell with their lives.
Angel of Seven Heavens, Lord of Pure Incantations, The Grandfather of Dragons   The ancient platinum dragon Hamarut was once thought to be a draconic deity serving right under Torm, the Hand of Righteousness, bringing peace and justice to its domain. Hamarut was the first to find the continent of Idriell, learning enough about the land, seeing that it was a flourishing continent sufficient for the rest of his kin and gods he served to find rest and build their foundation. Hamarut was also the first of dragon-kind to discover the power that Idriell naturally had, condensing it into Hamarut’s own and forming what is commonly known as “barrier crystals.”   The gods and dragons ruled the land before the gods went back to their home planes and left the dragons there to rule, Haramut creating what is known as the Kingdom of Existimantur. The dragons ruled for centuries before Pikyr, one of Hamarut’s kin, became the leading cause of the kingdoms downfall. Some stories about Pikyr’s great power was that he learned from Haramut, using that power and turning it against Hamarut. The death of Hamarut caused the Kingdom to disperse, although the loyal dragons to Hamarut still worshipped him, and with the help of other deities, was brought back as Bahamut
