Homebrewed Spells

The following is a list of spells specific to East Marches that your character can learn by spending Favor. The Favor required for unlocking one of these spells is 2x the spell's level. For example, a 4th Level spell will cost 8 Favor, a 6th Level spell will cost 12 Favor, and so on.
 

Galdric’s Animated Paper

Transmutation Cantrip

Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: 5 ft
Target: A piece of paper or similar
Components: V S
Duration: Varies

You magically fold and animate a Tiny piece of paper or similar material, such as a leaf, within range. You can fold it into one of the following shapes:   Boat. The boat floats on and is not destroyed by water. When placed in water, you can mentally direct the boat to move in any direction along the water's surface, at a speed of 5 feet per round. The boat is able to carry a single Tiny object that weighs 1 pound or less.   Crane. The crane has a fly speed of 10 feet. You can mentally direct the crane to move, or name a location within 1 mile that you know of. The crane will fly to the location and land, becoming inert.   Dog. The dog has a movement speed of 10 feet. You can mentally direct the dog to move. If a creature hostile to you moves to within 10 feet of the dog, the dog moves up to its speed towards it and gives off a loud barking noise. Afterwards, the dog unfolds itself and becomes inert.   Flower. The flower is controlled by the time of day. It is open during the day and closed during the night. During sunrise and sunset, the flower slowly opens and closes respectively.   Samurai. The samurai has a movement speed of 5 feet. You can mentally direct the samurai to move. The samurai always points his sword in the direction of the nearest castle or fort.   You can have up to 5 pieces of origami active at once.
 

Galdric's Garbled Speak

1st Level - Transmutation

Target: Willing Creatures

Duration: 1 Hour

You and up to three willing creatures you can see within range become enshrouded in obscurity, rendering your speech as senseless noise to passersby. When a creature hears this, it hears only the din of a crowd speaking. A creature hearing this noise can make a Wisdom (Insight) check contested by your spell save DC. On a success, the creature knows that this noise is being caused by a spell.   At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 1st.

2nd Level - Transmutation

Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: Self
Target: 5-Foot-Radius Sphere
Components: V S M*
(*A blade, consumed for the duration of the spell)
Duration: (Concentration) 1 Hour

While holding a blade, you cast this spell and it shatters into 1000 pieces which are suspended in air for a split second before they start rapidly rotating around in a 5 foot radius circle centered on you.   Each creature, besides the caster, in range must make a dexterity saving throw and take 3d4 slashing damage when the spell is cast or half that on a successful save.   Any creature that passes through the ring of blades takes 1d4 slashing damage.   At the end of the spell, the blades immediately reforms into the original. Any poison or physical properties such as silvered that apply to the blade also applies to them when they are suspended. However, enchantments or magical effects on the blade do not.   At Higher Levels. For each spell slot used above 2nd to cast this spell, the initial damage increases by 2d4.
 

Galdric's Boil Blood

5th Level - Transmutation

Target: A Creature with Blood

Duration: Instantaneous

Chose a target within range. Roll 8d10. If the amount rolled is equal to or greater than the target's HP, the target's blood rapidly expands until they explode. If the amount is less, the spell has no effect.
 

Galdric's Repairment

5th Level - Transmutation

Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: 60 ft
Target: A Corpse
Components: V S M*
(*A bottle of Holy Water worth at least 250 GP)
Duration: Instantaneous

When you cast this spell, an unnaturally cold but harmless fire erupts from your hands. You target the majority of what's left of a burned, charred, cremated, dismembered, or dissolved corpse or the remains of a corpse of a Large or smaller creature that has been dead for no longer than 48 hours. The fire erupts from the remains and assembles an undamaged, intact corpse of the targeted creature. The fire cleans the body, closes all wounds, restores lost limbs, and neutralizes any poison or disease that was affecting the creature when it died.   At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th or higher, Repairment can target an additional corpse that's within range for each slot level above 5th.
