Handollaf Obici comes from a proud line of artisan dwarves. His clan inhabits the empty lava tubes of an inactive volcano where all of the minerals necessary for finely crafted weapons, armor and trinkets lay exposed. Dwarves living in The Slumbering Mountain had no need to spend endless hours digging and so became master artisans.
Not too long ago, Handollaf, at the tender age of 45, was just beginning to scratch the surface of his craft. He worked for his parents and life was simple. His father was a respected healer and councilor to many dwarves and his mother was one of the most potent warriors in the clan, slaying countless necromancers and enemies of the mountain. Both were exquisite craftsmen at the peek of their careers.
Unfortunately, life would not stay so easy. After many long hours at the forge, failing time after time, Handollaf succumbed to exhaustion. The next thing he was aware of was the sting of caustic smoke in his nose. It was too late for his family. Barely escaping with his life, the youngest son of the Obici family was cast out for immolating everyone he cared about, leaving his home with only bare necessities and a dark secret.
